Out with the old, in with the new!

A big thank you to our friends at the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank for gifting us a much-needed three-door refrigerator.

Reliable kitchen equipment is essential to serving meals every day, and this new addition will help us safely store ingredients and keep our scratch kitchen running smoothly.

(And yes—we may have had to take a door off to fit this bad boy in. 😅)

We have the best volunteers, hands down!

Our friends from Genworth have been serving alongside us since 2017 and, over the years, have gifted more than $125,000 to support our daily meal program. It is never lost on us how fortunate we are to be lifted up in so many ways.

A big thank you to Boonsboro Country Club's Drew Robinson for stopping by this morning to deliver a generous donation from the club’s Tennis Pro-Am tournament.

We were honored to be chosen as this year’s benefactor, and thanks to the kindness and generosity of the tournament’s players, an incredible $3,600 was raised to support our work here on Clay Street!

We’re grateful to the Bedford Community Health Foundation for their continued partnership and investment in our meals outreach efforts across Bedford County.

This year, BCHF awarded Daily Bread a $21,000 grant supporting meal sites including Raintree, Salem Court, and Joseph’s Dream. Since 2017, their generosity has provided more than $100,000 to help grow and sustain these low-income outreach sites and ensure neighbors have continued access to nutritious meals close to home.

Another United Way of Central Virginia Day of Caring in the books!

Yesterday was a busy and very impactful one, with several groups from local businesses sharing their heart and hands to tackle a few different projects here on Clay Street. Nationwide spent the morning cleaning up our neighborhood, Banker Steel Company spruced up our herb garden, Framatome North America served 987 meals over the course of our 2-hour lunch service, and BWXT gave our historic building a much-needed pressure washing.

Our friends from Popeyes Lynchburg also stopped by to deliver a check supporting our summer outreach programs that directly serve children.

Sunshine, a little rain at the finish, and a full day of community support made our 33rd Annual Golf Tournament at London Downs GC a wonderful success. ⛳

We’re incredibly thankful to our longtime hosts, Kroger and Westover Dairy, and to our Gold Sponsor partner, Delta Star, Inc., for their continued support of this event and our mission.

Thank you as well to all of the golfers, sponsors, and community partners who helped make the tournament such a success. From a beautiful day on the course to the rain rolling in right at the finish, it was a memorable day all around!

Events like this help keep our meal program going strong, serving our community 365 days a year. Thank you for showing up for Lynchburg Daily Bread.
