Update Below

Prayer Warriors:
We all need to come together as one and Pray for Ken Christensen and the Family.

All of you know what a Servant he and his loving Family have been not only to Emmaus, this Emmaus Community, the bonds of true Christian friendships over the years but as a Faithful, compassionate, Servant of God.

Per his Daughter, Pastor Kristy May; Ken is in his last hours and the family would appreciate prayers for all of us.

Let us pray Ken Christensen home to Glory just as he has lifted all of us in prayer to the Lord.

***They are asking NO visitors right now but definitely need prayer.***

Kristy will let me know of any arrangements when that is done.

The Family sends their love to all of us.

*** 7:29 pm I received this message from Kristy May

Kristy: Daddy is in Jesus arms.

Sheila: My God my God.
Rest in peace and rise in glory good and faithful servant…. ***

My heart literally hurts at just finding out about the passing of Pastor James Wellington ‘Whimpy’ Martin from Pastor Sue Keen.

We had many Pastors in our Lynchburg/Central Virginia Emmaus community. They all have their unique gifts and things I specifically remember about them.

Pastor Whimpy was full of wisdom, jokes, and kindness. His laugh and smile were contagious and he loved his family dearly. He was such a gentleman.

Pastor James Wellington ‘Whimpy’ Martin, you are finally reunited with Mrs. Betsy and walking in the Presence of Jesus.
Well done… Well done.

Prayers lifted up for his family.

View James Wellington "Wimpy" Martin's obituary, send flowers and sign the guestbook.

WHY MY LIFE IS WORTH SAVING!!

My name is Steven May, and I call Concord, Virginia, my home. I'm 46 years old, on a determined mission to find a Living Kidney Donor. You might wonder why my life is worth saving, and I'll share my story with you.

I used to be a volunteer on my local rescue squad and fire department, helping people in their times of need. But now, life has different plans for me. I'm the one looking for someone to save my life, to be the lifeline that will extend my days.

I've just started a new job in January 2023 as a Construction Inspector. My goal is to return to full-time work, contribute to my community, and volunteer once again. I want to see my nephews and niece grow up, travel without dialysis constraints, and maybe even build a family.

My life story is one of resilience. Born with just one kidney operating at 16%, fate intervened when my father selflessly donated one of his kidneys in 1985. This gift allowed me to experience a normal childhood and dream of a bright future.

In 1998, I needed dialysis, but I refused to let my condition define me. A deceased donor kidney transplant in 2001 blessed me with 18 more years of cherished moments. I lived life to the fullest until 2017 when its function declined.

Now, I'm in search of a third chance at life, hoping to find a hero who can help me reclaim the joys I've had to put aside. My story is one of courage and determination. I'm reaching out to the world, asking for someone to be the hero in my journey of life, love, and second chances.

So, I ask you, can you be my lifesaver? Will you join me on this remarkable journey and help me continue to make a difference in this world? My life is worth saving, not just for me but for all the lives I hope to touch and inspire along the way. Please share my story!!!!
