UPDATE: Arrest Made in October 1, 2024 Shooting Incident on Water Gate Drive
Lynchburg, VA - Jermaine Hawkins has been arrested. Excellent work by the members of the Lynchburg Police Department.

UPDATE: Arrest Made in October 1, 2024 Shooting Incident on Water Gate Drive
LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg Police Department (LPD) continues to investigate the shooting that occurred on October 1, 2024, in the 100 block of Water Gate Drive. Earlier today, LPD arrested Kevin Cantrell Brown Jr., 22, of Amherst, in connection with the shooting death of Anthony Dwight Davis.
Brown has been charged with the following:
* Murder
* Use of a firearm in the commission of a felony
* Reckless handling of a firearm
* Shooting into an occupied vehicle
* Discharge of a firearm in public
Brown is currently being held in the Blue Ridge Regional Jail without bond.
In addition to Brown's arrest, Jayon Zykelse Phelps, 20, of Lynchburg, and Jermaine Shamont Hawkins Jr., 23, of Lynchburg, are both wanted in connection with the incident. Arrest warrants have been issued for them, and both are wanted on the following charges:
* Murder
* Use of a firearm in the commission of a felony
* Reckless handling of a firearm
* Shooting into an occupied vehicle
* Discharge of a firearm in public
* Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
