Hey y’all!! This week we’re watching the movie They Live. This movie is easily available on peacock and other places 😜 online. Feel free to dm this account if you need help finding a link.

This movie is often co opted by those on the right in the forms of memes etc. The true intent of the movie was to be a scathing critique of the film industry and the Reagan administration. This movie has amazing themes of ideology, manufactured consent, racism, and much more.

This is the first movie we’ve watched and hopefully the beginning of a great tradition!! Exploring works of film is a great way of opening larger discussion and analysis, sharpening our minds and critical thinking skills to the media we consume daily.
