💝A small act of compassion and caring goes a long way for our neighbors. Birthday box items may seem like small tokens — wash cloths, hand soap, and word puzzles. But to our neighbors, they are a gentle yet powerful reminder that the community they love loves them back. Our neighbors are remembered on their birthday, and every day here at Meals on Wheels, thanks to our wonderful volunteers and donors. You make these moments possible.

By delivering more than just a hot, nutritious meal, Meals on Wheels bridges the gap between hunger and health, ensuring our most vulnerable community members receive a lifeline, a wellness check, and the dignity they deserve right here in Greater Lynchburg.

🐾❤️ Huge shoutout to the Lynchburg Humane Society for helping us keep full bowls and happy tails across Lynchburg! 🐾❤️

While LHS has a fantastic pet pantry at their Center for Pets, transportation is often a barrier for our homebound neighbors. That’s where AniMeals steps in. Board members like Steve and our dedicated drivers bridge the gap by delivering pet food directly to recipients' doors.

Meals on Wheels' mission is to feed homebound neighbors, and we know many have 4-legged family members. While our operating budget does not cover pet care, the AniMeals program provides supplemental monthly food entirely through community support:
🐱 Merchandise proceeds from My Dog Duke’s Diner
🐶 Partnerships with Lynchburg Humane Society and Gleaning for the World
🐹Pet food donations collected at local veterinary clinics

It takes a village to care for our community, two-legged and four-legged alike!
