Water is one of the things we go through every single day at The Refuge. We’re asking our community to help us keep cases of bottled water on hand for our guests.💧

If you’re able to pick up a case or two, we’d be grateful. Cases can be dropped off at The Refuge during our day shelter hours between 8AM-6PM. Thank you for helping us meet this everyday need!

This Tuesday, we’re celebrating one of the incredible people who helps make The Refuge community so special.

Meet Chantelle! 💚

Chantelle brings both helping hands and a caring heart to The Refuge. From assisting with evening intake and preparing meals to playing cards and simply spending time with our guests, she serves in ways that help people feel seen, supported, and welcomed.

We are incredibly grateful for her heart, her consistency, and the care she brings each time she serves.

Would you like to make a difference at The Refuge, too? Visit our website to learn more and sign up to volunteer!

A HUGE thank you to Liberty University for blessing The Refuge with such an incredible donation!

Every item helps us continue providing practical support and care to the individuals and families we serve each day.

We’re grateful for community partners who see the need and choose to show up. Thank you for supporting The Refuge and our neighbors! 💚

Last week at the Refuge! 💚

From community partnerships to warm meals and a new beginning, it was another full week at the Refuge.

We had the opportunity to host the Share Greater Lynchburg Lunch & Learn, welcomed Life Ministries as one of our newest volunteer groups, and provided over 100 meals to our guests throughout the week.

We’re also incredibly grateful for volunteers like Ms. Patrice Gilbert, who prepared a special breakfast for our guests last week. This wasn’t her first time stepping into the kitchen to serve our community, and we’re so thankful for the care she continues to show.

And one of our favorite moments of the week? Celebrating with one of our guests as they moved into permanent housing! 🏡✨

Every meal, partnership, volunteer hour, and milestone is part of the work happening here.

Here’s to another week at the Refuge! 🎉
