Teacher Appreciation Week continues at Perrymont Elementary! 🍎✨

Today, the PTO treated our amazing teachers and staff to donuts from Shipley Do-Nuts and fresh fruit to show our appreciation for all they do each and every day.

As we head into a busy and important month of testing in May, we are asking for support in helping students stay fueled, focused, and ready to do their best.⭐️🚌📚

Our PTO is organizing a Testing Snack Sign-Up and we invite families to contribute snacks for their student’s classroom. These snacks will be used on testing days to give students a little extra boost.🍎

Grades K–2 will be completing division assessments
Grades 3–5 will be taking SOL tests

If you’re able to help, please take a moment to sign up using the SignUpGenius link and indicate items you’d like to donate for your child’s classroom. Suggested items include goldfish, pretzels, chips, granola bars, or anything you feel your student’s class would enjoy. Items can be sent in ahead of time—please label all donations with your child’s classroom teacher’s name.❤️🐾

Yesterday was a fun day at Perrymont Elementary School! ❄️🍧

To celebrate our Read-A-Thon Grade vs. Grade winners, we treated our amazing 1st grade classes to a visit from Kona Ice! We also invited Ms. Coates’ 5th grade class to join the fun after earning the highest total reading minutes of any class—an incredible accomplishment!

Despite the chilly temperatures, our students were all smiles and thoroughly enjoyed their sweet treats. 💙

A huge thank you to Kona Ice of Lynchburg & Roanoke for braving the cold to celebrate with us and help create such a memorable day for our students!

📚🎉 What an incredible Read-A-Thon at Perrymont Elementary School! 🎉📚

Last Friday, we gathered to celebrate the amazing effort our students put into this year’s Read-A-Thon. Together, our students read a school-wide total of 92,360 minutes—an incredible accomplishment!

During the celebration, we recognized the top three readers in each grade level for their dedication and love of reading. We also celebrated Ms. Coates’ 5th grade class, who recorded the highest number of reading minutes of any classroom at Perrymont with an impressive 9,540 minutes. Way to go!

Our Grade vs. Grade competition was also a huge success. After all the minutes were counted, 1st grade came out on top with an astounding 19,410 minutes read! Congratulations to Ms. Elliott, Ms. Fink, and Ms. Ellis’ classes for leading the way and showing just how powerful a love of reading can be.

We are so proud of all of our students for their hard work and enthusiasm. Thank you to our teachers, families, and supporters who helped make this event such a success!
