Wow!

EAGLE SCOUT LEGEND: STEVEN SPIELBERG—Long before Steven Spielberg became one of the most influential filmmakers in history, he earned the rank of Eagle Scout.

His journey behind the camera even has roots in Scouting. While working toward the Photography merit badge, a young Spielberg created an 8mm film, helping spark a lifelong passion for visual storytelling.

From Jaws and E.T. to Jurassic Park and Schindler’s List, Spielberg went on to shape generations of filmmaking. In 1989, he was also recognized with the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award.

His story is a reminder that the skills, interests, and confidence developed through Scouting can become the foundation for extraordinary things.

Once an Eagle, always an Eagle.

The Valley Stream Camporee was quite the success!! We walked away with the Spirit Stick, First Place in the cooking competition, severe weather and evacuation in real time training, and memories to last a life time. Thank you to all who helped make the Camporee and its evacuation a safe success.
