🌿 THE VILLAGE CHALLENGE 🌿

This weekend, I'm inviting you to join me in something simple, but powerful.

We often hear the phrase, "It takes a village."

But somewhere along the way, many parents lost theirs.

So here's your challenge:

Think of:

🤍 A new mom
🤍 A new dad
🤍 A family in their first two years of parenthood

Then reach out and ask one simple question:

✨ "How are you REALLY doing?"

And when they answer, listen.

Not to fix.
Not to compare.
Not to offer advice.

Just listen.

If you're able, take it a step further:

🍲 Drop off a meal
☕ Bring them a coffee
🧺 Help with a household task
👶 Offer to hold the baby while they shower or rest
🎨 Entertain the older children for an hour
📱 Give them an hour of your undivided attention
💌 Send a thoughtful message and check back in a few days

Parenthood can be beautiful, but it can also be incredibly isolating. Many mothers and fathers are carrying burdens that nobody sees.

As a doula and maternal health advocate, I have witnessed firsthand how much a simple act of kindness can mean to a family.

This weekend, let's be intentional about showing up for one another.

Let's check on the parents.
Let's support the dads.
Let's love on the families.
Let's build back the village.

If you accept the challenge, comment "Village" below and come back to share how you showed up for someone. ❤️

Here is a photo of my children's "Yes Bowl."

What is a Yes Bowl?

I started this with my oldest when he was around 6 months old and beginning solids. As he got older and started asking for snacks more often, it became a regular part of our home.

The Yes Bowl is filled with snacks that I'm comfortable saying "yes" to at any time.

You'll notice it isn't filled with candy, gummies, chips, or other highly processed snack foods. We do enjoy those things occasionally and in moderation, but they aren't our everyday options.

Like most kids, my boys love to snack especially active toddler boys. I wanted to encourage mindful eating choices without constantly redirecting them away from less nutritious options.

So instead of always saying, "No, not that," we created a space where the answer is almost always, "Yes."

When they're feeling snacky, they can choose something from the Yes Bowl, and I don't have to overthink it. Fresh fruit, wholesome snack bars, and other nutrient-dense options live here.

It's a simple way to encourage independence, reduce power struggles around food, and make healthy choices the easy choices.

And honestly, it has worked really well for our family.

If you're one of my clients, this is something I often encourage families to consider once little ones begin eating solids and snacks regularly. Creating a Yes Bowl can help foster independence, support healthy eating habits, and take some of the stress out of snack time.

Give it a try and let me know how it works for your family! ❤️🍎🍊🍋

This work is so fulfilling.

I just came on here to say that. That’s it. That’s all.

So many of you have watched this journey unfold from the beginning, and I don’t think I’ve said “thank you” enough.

There are so many people quietly cheering me on, praying for me, sending referrals, sharing my information, and speaking my name in rooms I’m not even in. You have no idea what that means to me.

God has used this work to refine me in ways I never expected. It has stretched me, humbled me, strengthened me, and ultimately made me a better person.

What many people don’t know is that God gave me this maternal health vision years ago while I was working in HR. I was miserable. I knew I was capable of so much more, but I felt stuck and unable to fully serve families in the way I knew I was called to.

Then God told me to quit.

The following Tuesday, I did.

I had no perfect plan. No guarantees. Just faith and obedience.

And from that step of faith came everything you see today… from supporting families as a doula, to community advocacy, to building resources for parents who need them most.

Every family served, every birth attended, every baby held, every mother encouraged, it’s all a reminder that I am exactly where God called me to be.

I’m grateful. Truly grateful.

Thank you for believing in me, supporting me, and helping me build the village one family at a time. ❤️

Sometimes the work looks like advocacy. Sometimes it looks like education. And sometimes it looks like holding a baby while mom gets a moment to breathe.

Sometimes I have to stop and remind myself that this is real life.

A younger version of me would never believe that one day I'd be sitting in hospital rooms, supporting families, cheering moms on, and getting to hold brand new babies. 🥹🤍

The trust families place in me is something I don't take lightly. Every birth, every postpartum visit, every text message and check-in matters.

Just feeling incredibly grateful today.

Welcome to the world, baby girl! What a snug bug. She made her entrance this morning.

Building back the village, one family at a time. ✨
