“Some want to live within the sound
Of church or chapel bell;
I want to run a rescue shop,
Within a yard of hell.” C. Studd
There are hundreds of "invisible people" in the world- some are invisible because they aren't in the mainstream of society; perhaps they live in a subculture that isn't accepted across society by

"normal" people. Some are invisible because of their life's situations- homeless or jobless; or maybe they work in a place where they aren't noticed- cashiers, waitresses, store clerks - how many times have you been waited on by someone without really seeing them? If you do too, please consider joining us.

I love this illustration by Allistair Begg, and I cry every time I hear it; so as soon as Pastor Bruce Coker started telling it yesterday, I could feel my breath catch in my throat.
whoo, what good news- because the man on the middle cross said I could come.

We heard and saw an awesome presentation about Filter of Hope (https://filterofhope.org/), which brings family-sized water filters to people in other countries, where clean fresh water is not available.
Let me know if you'd like more information and I will put you in touch with the right people!

I'm participating in a small group study with some of the good folks at Lifeline Church - we're going through the Experiencing God study together.
This is a *life changing* study, if you're willing to do the work. it's not easy; there are 5 lessons every week, takes anywhere from 20 to 30 minutes usually, and there are 12 units. We're currently finishing up unit 8 tonight - we've talked about it, and we agree that it's gradually getting harder and harder - and you know why? because it's challenging us more and more to stop trusting in ourselves and start trusting God COMPLETELY.
So yes, it's hard, but I also believe that it is VERY worth it.
A long time ago, Rutledge Second Baptist went through it - and I'll admit, I didn't put the work in that I should have, but it still made a HUGE difference in my relationship with God. I'm doing my best not to skim through things, or skip some parts to get through quicker, so I am getting a lot more out of it this time.
One of the things I've struggled with since we started is when they've asked "what impossible thing is God asking you to do?" Because the point they're making is that we can't do impossible things, but God can use us, if we're willing, to make impossible things happen. And I've been thinking, God hasn't asked me to do anything that's impossible. and that's worrisome.
One of the things I'm remembering is that how my prayer life and my faith was during the time Randy was sick. I KNEW God was able to do anything and everything He chooses to do. and I want to get back to that place- but I don't want to have to wait til I'm in a situation like that to be there; I want to be that trusting in God all the time- and I think that might be my "impossible" thing. But again, I know God is faithful, and if I trust Him, I CAN get back to that place.
If your church or group has not been through this study, I'd suggest it - you can do go through it alone, but to me, it's better to study together, to encourage each other and to hold each other accountable.

Experiencing God is my life message. It describes the way I have always understood and walked with God. I had shared these truths in many places before writing the book. People repeatedly asked, “Have you ever written down the material you are teaching? God’s people need to hear these truths.”...
