Carson's Cause received $3,000 this week from the Masons as part of Minnesota Masonic Charities Matching Funds Grant Program. The local Ben Franklin Lodge Luverne BFL #114 generously awarded the grant to match the funds we raised this summer with our annual Buffalo Days Run 4A Cause in Luverne. The gift will offset costs of professional programming we use to normalize brain health conversations in elementary classrooms, and it will help us buy hundreds of children's books we give the kids with our visits. Today is Sept. 10, recognized as World Su***de Prevention Day during National Su***de Prevention Month. We are grateful for the households in Rock County that are illuminating our communities with purple lights. Thank you to Luv1LuvAll and the army of local volunteers working to improve brain health conversations and access to brain health care. These efforts closely align with our mission at Carson's Cause — to improve brain health conversations among kids and normalize how we talk about caring for brains ... to ultimately prevent su***de.

We surpassed our $10,000 fundraising goal for the 2026 Buffalo Days Run 4A Cause Saturday! And we have to say, these sponsors had a LOT to do with it. They're prominently featured on the back of our t-shirts and we also want to acknowledge them here. Thank you hardly seems enough.

This morning was such a rewarding experience for us when so many supportive friends, family, runners and walkers joined us for our Fourth Annual Buffalo Days Run 4A Cause. It was a busy day full of community Buffalo Days activities, and we have so much to say about our event, but for now, we'll let the images tell the story.
