Our Valentine's Day celebration dinner with the foster parents who were able to attend was encouraging to them and to us. 38 attended, including a foster mom who got a new placement that afternoon! Pastor Kevin Baggett and his wife Laura joined us and loved the evening at Carrabbas.

The food was great (especially the dessert - Sogno Di Cioccolata "Chocolate Dream."

Our 2024 Back to School Bash, sponsored by Jockey Being Family, and hosted by Idlewild Baptist Church and The Idlewild Foundation was a great success. Supplies were given out to 283 children (compared to 144 last year) and it was all a part of a community fair at Idlewild at the Springs.

Best of all - God was glorified!

The Idlewild Foundation and Idlewild Baptist Church are especially pleased to be hosting the 2024 Back to School Bash, sponsored by Jockey Being Family. The event will be on July 27 at Idlewild at the Springs starting at 11 am.

The Back to School Bash provides an opportunity for local foster and adoptive families to feel celebrated and supported as they get ready for the upcoming school year! There will be [select which apply] fun, food, prizes, entertainment, games, plus – children ages 5-14 will receive a FREE backpack filled with back to school supplies.

Are you registered for the Back to School Bash? Here’s a few helpful tips before you arrive at Idlewild Baptist Church at 18333 Exciting Idlewild Blvd, Lutz on July 30, 12:30 to 3:30 before your registered time slot.
• Parking—we recommend you enter from Van D**e and park near the main west entrance.
• No photos will be taken of children's faces and any that accidently get taken will be deleted and never used.
• We will have plenty of drinks and treats and activities for the kids while you get the school supplies with your personal shopper.
• Please refer to our earlier emails to registrants for more details on arriving, parking and getting to the Bash in the Gatheria.

Most of all, this is a celebration for foster and adopted children, put on by people who love and appreciate them, sponsored by Jockey Being Family and hosted by Idlewild Baptist Church and The Idlewild Foundation.

A Back to School Bash provides an opportunity for local foster and adoptive families to feel celebrated and supported as they get ready for the upcoming school year! There will be fun, food, prizes, entertainment, games, plus— children will receive a free backpack filled with Back to School necessities.

We will have many school supplies such as:
Notebooks, dividers, scissors, paper, pens, pencils, construction paper, graph paper, pencil sharpeners, composition books, erasers, highlighters, markers, dry erase markers, sticky notes. index cards, folders and a lot more.

Each parent will have a personal shopper to help find and carry the school supplies, and while that is happening, the kids will be entertained with food, face painting, balloons and Uncle Charlie Bancroft.
