Our community signed on to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in Osage County to give our children the best start in life. Inspired by Dolly Parton’s own dad, who couldn’t read or write.

While our hearts are incredibly sad today, we’re more inspired than ever to continue this important mission. Together, we are building a brighter future for our children.

Thank you for supporting our work and Dolly’s legacy.

In 1995, Dolly Parton started mailing books to children in her home county to inspire children to love reading in honor of her dad, who couldn’t read or write.

That idea lives here too. Every month, about children in Luther and Jones find a book in the mailbox — because of neighbors who fund it, volunteers who run it, and a woman from Sevier County, TN who started it all.

Thank you, Dolly. We will always love you.

Dolly was an inspiration to so many nonprofits that became local affiliates for The Imagination Library, myself included. What a great legacy that we can pickup and carry in her memory. Thank you Dolly. You will be missed.

Today, we join people around the world in mourning the passing of Dolly Parton.

Dolly’s legacy extends far beyond her music. Through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, she transformed her belief in the power of reading into a worldwide movement that has placed hundreds of millions of books into the hands of young children.

At the Oklahoma Partnership for School Readiness, we are honored to help carry that legacy forward here in Oklahoma. Every book mailed to a child’s home, every story shared between a parent and child, and every young reader inspired to dream is part of the extraordinary gift Dolly leaves behind.

Her voice will be deeply missed, but her commitment to helping children Dream More, Learn More, Care More and Be More will continue to inspire generations to come. ❤️📚
