4-H Summer Camp 2026 is in the books! Last week, St. James 4-H members attended 4–H Camp at Camp Grant Walker in Po***ck, LA. Our campers had such a great time learning new things in their track, enjoying recreation and free time each day. We are so proud of them for stepping out of their comfort zones trying new things and making new friends. It was a fun week making tons of memories with this crew! 🍀

We are winding down after our first day at 4-H Camp. Today, campers took their swim test, picked their educational tracks and enjoyed some free time tonight. We are ready for a fun week at Camp Grant Walker! 🍀

We closed out the year for our St. James 4-H Livestock Ambassadors and our Jr. Ag Leadership group with agriculture tours in southwest Louisiana and south of Houston, TX. It was a great two days learning about different Louisiana crops, the livestock industry in Texas with plenty laughs along the way.

We visited the LSU AgCenter Rice Research Station where we got a tour with Dr. Kurt Guidry and visited a crawfish pond where Mr. Todd Fontenot taught us about the Crawfish industry. We then traveled to Texas to visit V8 Cattle Ranch, (Mr. Jim Williams and Mr. James Richard) and ended with a tour of Atchinson show pigs (Corey Atchinson)! Thank you to each of these individuals for taking time out of their busy schedules to educate our 4-H members on each of their operations!🍀

This past Tuesday, St. James 4-H members participated in the Southeast Regional Culinary Arts Contest. These individuals received an invitation to the regional cookery after placing first in their divisions on the parish level. We are so proud of them! Congratulations!! 🍀
