**NOT VILLAS RELATED, BUT LUSBY RELATED**
Many fellow Lusbians have been keeping track with the rapid push on Data Center Development with Lusby being at the I-2 Heavy Industrial zoned area for these projects.
As we continue to advocate, showing up and speaking up at Planning and Zoning, and BOCC Meetings are crucial. Speaking up means your voice is documented on your feelings for this occurring in our town. We need to keep the pressure on our current county officials that we are displeased and demand action!
Tuesday April 21st is a big meeting day for Calvert. And your voice and action are needed! Whether it is Villas related, or Data Center related, or both!
1. Attend/Dial In the Planning Commissioners Meeting at 7:00pm on April 21st where the proposed text amendments from the BOCC will be discussed with the Planning Commissioners.
In Person: First floor of the County Administration Building, 150 Main St. in Prince Frederick.

Let's continue to stand up, speak up, and show out for our neighbors and our community to keep Lusby and Calvert beautiful!
We are !
The Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) recently voted to introduce text amendments to the Calvert County Zoning Ordinance that establish additional requirements for any proposed data center development. These amendments are intended to further restrict and regulate where and how data centers may be developed.
The proposed amendments would prohibit the use of on-site wells for cooling, impose stricter emissions standards for backup generators, strengthen stormwater management requirements and require developers to fund all necessary infrastructure upgrades needed to support their project. They would also remove data centers as a permitted use in the Light Industrial (I-1) District and restrict them to the Heavy Industrial-2 (I-2) Districts.
The Planning Commission will review the proposed amendments at its rescheduled regular meeting on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at 7 p.m. at the County Administration Building located at 150 Main St. in Prince Frederick. View the recording of the recent joint special meeting of the Planning Commission and Environmental Commission at www.youtube.com/watch?v=ouJXsqZ6BN0.
At this time, no specific project has been formally submitted to the county for approval or denial. No application has been filed, no formal request has been made and no vote on a facility is scheduled before the Planning Commission or the BOCC. Tuesday’s Planning Commission meeting will focus on reviewing these zoning amendments, not on approving or denying a specific data center project.
If and when a specific proposal is formally submitted, it will be evaluated through the established public process, with all facts, details and impacts clearly presented. Additional information will be shared as it becomes available.
