Just a reminder for everyone getting their flu shots this year: If you have Alpha Gal Syndrome, please check which vaccine you're receiving before getting it.

Flucelvax is manufactured using mammalian cells (canine kidney cells), and FluMist contains porcine gelatin.

Not all flu vaccines are manufactured the same way, and there are alternatives. Ask for the exact vaccine name and review the ingredients with your allergist, especially if you have severe AGS.

This October, FARE is bringing leaders across disciplines together to help shape a coordinated national strategy for alpha-gal syndrome (AGS).
On October 27–28 in Washington, D.C., FARE will convene experts from research, healthcare, public health, government, agriculture, industry, ecology, and the patient community to identify shared priorities and help build a national roadmap for AGS.
The discussions will span the many areas AGS touches, like diagnosis, patient care to tick exposure, prevention, and research, with a focus on identifying critical evidence gaps and opportunities for coordinated action.
By bringing these perspectives together, the goal is to move beyond individual efforts toward shared priorities that can strengthen research and infrastructure for the AGS community.
