Roadrunners, Rat Rods, Fords, Chevys, imports, LS swaps, choppers, Harleys, and Busas, a little bit of everything came out for our first ever The Rec Car, Bike, and Truck Show! Next time we’ve got to check the calendar a little better to make sure Cooters and Shenandoah Raceway don’t have a show on the same day along with it being derby day at the fair. However, we had an amazing outcome and the kids loved seeing the vehicles! Thank you for everyone who supported! Can’t wait until next year!

To every car and motorcycle owner who brought out their incredible rides, every volunteer who helped make the day possible, and every family and community member who came out to support us..we truly appreciate you.

Your participation, enthusiasm, and love for the community made this event a tremendous success. Congratulations to all of our trophy winners, and thank you to every participant who helped make the show special. Every vehicle added something unique to the day!

We could not have done it without you. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year for an even bigger and better show!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our carwash fundraiser over the weekend! We had a ball getting your cars squeaky clean! The Rec’s functionality has a monthly expense of roughly $10k. Completely community funded, every fundraiser, along with every monthly donation of $25, $50, $100, collectively give us what we need to serve the youth of our communities! Huge thank you to Sara Finn, Laura Page Sours, and Misty Carter Arrington for leading our fundraising charge!

What a Summer! 100 kids to VA Beach, attendance increased to 70 youth daily. We taught economic sustainability & nutritional balance, along with weekly pool days! Our 26-27 school year programs begin Monday, September 7th. Mondays, Tuesdays & Fridays, transporting from Luray, Stanley & Springfield Elementary, Luray Middle & Mt Carmel with drop offs in Luray, Rileyville & Stanley! This year’s focus is on Economic Success, Work Essentials, Home Ec, Self-esteem, advocacy & efficiency! 📢Living Legacy is creating A Living Legacy Cookbook: Recipes from Our Past and Present—a one-of-a-kind community cookbook celebrating the recipes, history, and people that make Page County special. ❤️

We’re looking for YOUR favorite family recipes! Whether it’s Grandma’s famous biscuits, a treasured holiday dish, or the recipe everyone always asks you to make, we want to include it!

This cookbook is a collaborative project featuring supporters of Living Legacy, The REC, and the Historic Andrew Jackson School Museum. Proceeds will help support the work and youth programs of Living Legacy.

Three years ago we began building a park, a place for our county to come enjoy an outdoor outlet. In doing so, we planned for a basketball court, particularly so kids could play ball at night, rather than being on the streets. Fast forward, two years ago we build our basketball court, yet it had no lights. Then last year, lights and polls were donated to us, but they had no power. We’re happy to announce we’ve got POWER, night ball for all who would like to enjoy, is now open at The Rec!
