Shout outs to everyone who supported The REC’s Spirit Night at Mamma Mia in Shenandoah! We are so grateful for everyone who enjoyed a meal while helping support the youth of our community.

🍝Special thanks to Mamma Mia for hosting us for the second year and giving back to The REC!

And a shoutout to one of our awesome REC youth who volunteered to help during the evening AND had the important job of picking the winner of our Mamma Mia gift card! 🎉

A big thank-you to Massanutten Regional Library, Page Public Library, Community Works 4Page, and our friend Tim for making this month’s Readings at The REC so special! 📚

Our youth met a live American kestrel, learned about the nest boxes used to support kestrels in Page County, and read The Tale of Pale Male and Who Would Win? Falcon vs. Hawk. We loved seeing their curiosity take flight! 🪶

3 years ago, no park, just a barren field! Sometimes when you’re in the thick of it, you don’t realize the progress being made! Whatever you’re doing, whatever you’re going through, keep going, rather you see it or not, you’re making progress!

Growing young minds, developing an appetite for success!

It was bitter sweet, but yesterday our two old faithfuls took their last ride (with us), as they made their way to the scrap yard! They’ve seen more than better days, they’ve seen some of the most memorable days we’ve had! From DC, to NYC, Ocean City, VA Beach, 10 schools a day, 5 days a week, drop offs in 4 towns, church on Sundays, 24/7 these these buses literally ran until the wheels just about fell off! With engines knocking, and floors rotting we got all we could out of these buses until for safety purposes we had to call it quits! Thank you so much Annette Madison Lee Griffith for gifting us one bus, even fixing & picked up when we had to leave it in New York City one year! Thank you Bennett and Butler,INC for the other that has hauled kids for us for 5 years now! What’s next? We save up, look for 15 passenger vans & continue to do the work we’re called to all throughout the valley!
