Thank you to everyone who has reached out with love, prayers, and condolences.
If you could continue to keep Mikey’s family in your thoughts as they begin to navigate a life without him physically here, I know it would mean so much.
They are very private people when it comes to social media, and I’ve always respected that and will continue to do so.
I’m not sure if you have conversations with your family and friends about the other side, the afterlife, funerals, or after-care wishes, but I do with mine. And I’m really grateful for that openness. Having those conversations matters. It brings clarity. It brings peace. And it removes the question marks during some of the most emotionally difficult times.
One thing that may seem ironic is that being involved in the paranormal community creates a wider net of awareness and conversation. Sometimes in dark, cold rooms, talking to spirits, the lines between worlds blur and people can become vulnerable. It was in those experiences that I found my people. My chosen family.
While chatting with spirits and chasing ghosts, you discover a lot about yourself and the people you allow into your life. You also come to understand that life is meant to be lived fully, so that the afterlife can be just as meaningful, filled with those memories.
I’ve always believed that death is just an address change. And even though the phone line may feel disconnected, it’s still there… just in a different way.
I’m so grateful for our misfit group of SUP. For the group chats. For the tears, the texts, and the inappropriate jokes that somehow help break through the grief.
And for the love that continues…
