We have been informed of the passing of Gen Gardner, a veteran ranger at NR. Funeral arrangements are as follows: Burkhead Funeral Home, Charlotte, MI, Thursday, October 24, 2024, visitation from 11am-12pm, followed by a service at 12pm.

Today, June 13, 2023 we in scouting lost a great scouter, Melinda Young who was a District Scout Executive and camp director at Northwoods and camp Ge**er passed on to be with her husband. So many great events she engineered. RIP Mo.

That was then, this is now: The great thing about boy scout summer camp programs is the staff members who provided the programming. At Northwoods we tried to provide all the traditional areas of scouting and some unique areas not found in other camps. One program was blacksmithing by John Logan. John was a true outdoors person and enjoyed showing the scouts what he had learned. He now has a web site and business. Check out:
