It’s that time again - our biggest event of the year is BACK!

Bright Eyed is thrilled to host our annual Fill-a-Truck event at the Market Basket in Leominster on Friday, June 20th & Saturday, June 21st!

This two-day event helps us kick off the school year strong by filling our shelves with items for the weekend food kits.

Here’s how it works:
🛒 Market Basket shoppers can purchase pre-filled tote bags of non-perishable food right at checkout and drop them off on their way out.
🚚 We’ll be on-site collecting those totes and filling up the truck—one bag at a time!

But we can’t do it alone!
We need amazing volunteers to help:
✨ Hand out totes
✨ Keep the flow going in-store
✨ Greet and thank donors as they drop off their contributions

This is a fun, high-energy event and a great way to give back in just a few hours.

It's a Milestone Moment!

This month, we surpassed 20,000 food kits distributed, which has provided over 103,000 meals to local students who need a little extra nutritional support on the weekends when school meals aren't available.

A huge thank you to St. Mary’s Catholic Church (Jefferson, MA) for running a month long food drive on behalf of Bright Eyed.

With the assistance of the Knights of Columbus (Jefferson, MA), they collected the non-perishable food items, packed over 400 food kits and delivered them to our location.

Just amazing! We at Bright Eyed are so grateful for their ongoing support of our mission.

What a fun night of packing! A big thank you to Cub Scouts AOL Den, Pack 1728. They certainly brought the energy, packing over 160 food kits in under an hour! We even had a few food kit packing relay races mixed in.

We at Bright Eyed would like to give a huge shout out to a fantastic group of students and faculty at Johnny Appleseed Elementary in Leominster for organizing a recent food drive that brought in over 50 boxes of non-perishable food items!

All grades participated in the food drive and Class 5D (Ms. Gilchrist’s class pictured below)
took the lead on collecting and organizing.

Thank you to all of the students and faculty involved in making this such a great success, as well as to the families and community who donated food items.

While many of us gather around a full table today, many in our community face the reality of food insecurity. This holiday, we’re especially grateful for our supporters, volunteers, and donors who make it possible to provide for those in need.

The numbers are in! We reached our goal, raising over $10k in food and monetary donations at our annual Fill-a-Truck fundraiser last weekend.

A huge thank you to the Leominster Market Basket, the Market Basket management team and employees, and all of the Bright Eyed volunteers who helped throughout the event making it a success.

Also, thank you to all of those who showed their support during the event. Your gracious donations will go a long way to ensuring our ~340 local students will receive support for the upcoming year.

Today is the start of our 2-day Fill-a-Truck event at the Market Basket @ Whitney Field Mall in Leominster.

This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and allows Market Basket customers to purchase $10 or $20 pre-filled tote bags of non-perishable food items at time of checkout and donate those tote bags to Bright Eyed as they exit the store.
