Congratulations to our very own Hannah Pearson on this achievement!

Hannah Pearson, now 19, has graduated from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke as of December 2025 and is poised to lead her own classroom in North Carolina before turning 20.

A graduate of Robeson Community College and Fairmont High School, she entered UNCP as a junior after earning 60 college credits through the state’s Career and College Promise Program.

Pearson, whose mother has taught for 28 years and whose father recently earned his own degree from UNCP, completed her elementary education degree as a Brave Scholar, a pathway designed to cultivate future educators.

She will begin her teaching career as one of the youngest licensed public school teachers in the state. - Africa Giant

Here's a look back at the 49th annual concert and 9th workshop for B.B. Thompson Young People's Choir. Our young people enjoyed a weekend full of fun, fellowship, and empowerment.

Choir leadership would like to express our gratitude for our workshop facilitators Darnell Florence of Sunflowers Wellness Therapeutic Services , PLLC and Alyssa Cartwright Banks of The Sanctifly Brand, as well as educator and actress, Dr. Angela Bracey.
