National FFA Week is an annual tradition during the last full week of February to honor, celebrate and raise awareness about the National FFA Organization, agricultural education, and the role of youth in the future of farming and agriculture.

In honor of this tradition, our own Luling FFA chapter would like to encourage everyone to show some FFA pride with the following theme days next week (February 23rd, 24th and 25th).

Mosey into Monday with your best western get up — boots, blue jeans, cowboy hats, etc. Additionally, all ag students will get to go to the ag farm during their ag class period for a farm field day courtesy of Texas FFA and your 25–26 officer team to kick off FFA week, where there will be fun games, delicious prizes, and stations to learn more about FFA involvement and agriculture.

Open Season Tuesday — Celebrate the tradition of hunting season while recognizing the role responsible hunters play in wildlife management & conservation by dressing up as a hunter in full camouflage, or as your favorite wild game animal. Reminder: absolutely no weapons of any kind.

Blue and Gold Wednesday — Wear your FFA jacket or official FFA colors, National Blue and corn gold, to show off your FFA pride.

So have fun, be creative, and show your pride and love for agriculture and FFA, but please remember that these theme days are not an excuse to be out of dress code. Keep it school appropriate.

Yesterday, some of our ag students took a trip to blanco to learn more about wildlife!
They went around to different stations to learn skills such as antler scoring, native plant identification, and what wildlife species prefer them, habitat evaluation and management, wildlife techniques, and spoke with a game warden about hunter and boater safety, and laws surrounding those areas.

Learned a lot and had a great time doing it!
Wildlife CDE team coming soon? 🤔🦝🌲🎣
