Ticket sales for the Hall of Fame banquet end at noon on Saturday, April 16.

On Saturday, April 23, we will celebrate the LEHS Hall of Fame’s new inductees, which include: Ben Connell, Laurie Funderburk, SGM Thomas Payne, Lori Pindar, and Sean Quigley. Alumni and community members are invited to participate in this celebration and can order tickets for the catered event for $30 on this website: msha.ke/lugoffelgin50th. There are a limited number of tickets, and they will be sold on a first come, first serve basis.

Also, on the evening of April 23, the school will officially name the road between Wildwood Lane and Highway 1 between the three campuses, Willie Mickle Drive. Mr. Mickle served as LE’s principal from 1978 - 1992.

The Lugoff-Elgin High School community is continuing its celebration of the school’s 50th anniversary by reopening the school’s Hall of Fame, which inducted its first and only members in 1996 as a part of the school’s 25th anniversary celebration.

The purpose of the Hall of Fame is to honor alumni and contributors whose accomplishments, deeds and character exemplify outstanding achievement in their life’s work and/or service to their community. This award may also honor individuals who did not graduate from Lugoff-Elgin High School, but who have significantly and consistently contributed to the work and mission of the school.

The school hopes to add five more inductees this year, and they need your help to identify a pool of candidates. The form for nominations can be found at msha.ke/lugoffelgin50th. All nominations must be submitted by Feb. 15, 2022. If you have any questions about the nomination process, please contact Mr. Corey Wright at [email protected].

The LEHS 50th Anniversary committee is looking for former graduates and current or former faculty members to serve as LEHS Alumni Ambassadors.
Here’s what is involved:
- Like the LEHS Alumni page, and invite your fellow LEHS classmates to do the same via your personal page.
- Share upcoming events and posted announcements from the LEHS Alumni page on your personal page.
- Attend (whenever possible) LEHS 50th Anniversary events. The next event is Friday, Oct. 1st at the LEHS football game vs. Dreher.
