Potential Weather Impact!
This is a message from the South Carolina Emergency Management Division. Due to the potential impacts from Potential Tropical Cyclone 9 please inspect all gear, check your go bag, and ensure you are ready in the event of any possible response actions that are warranted. Currently the storm is forecast to remain west of South Carolina with the main impacts being wind and heavy rain, however tracks can change and any shift of the track east would mean higher impacts for the State. Please stay tuned for updates from S C E M D, including possible coordination calls and radio room activation. Thank you for your service.

I have been experimenting with different configurations for emergency communications with emphasis on winlink and keyboard to keyboard modes. After testing Xiegu G90, Icom 705, now testing my go box kits. Major differences are that the others are very portable, however my go boxes allows for an HF and VHF/UHF setup running from the same laptop. Today also testing a Comet 250B vertical bands seem to be ok, made a contact on 12m in Sweden.
