“A great Texan,” indeed!

That’s how Gov. Greg Abbott introduced Wayne Pfluger, longtime Texas Forestry Association leader, at today’s Affordability Roundtable in Huntsville. Wayne represented TFA, forestland owners, and the communities and businesses that make up our forestry industry.

We’re proud to have Wayne representing Texas forestry and the people who keep our industry thriving!

We welcomed more than 100 forest landowners to last week’s SFI Landowner Workshop! 🌲🌲🌲

Hosted by TFA and the Sustainable Forestry Initiative Texas State Implementation Committee, in collaboration with Texas A&M Forest Service, the workshop provided valuable resources to help landowners manage and protect their forests.

Private forest landowners manage approximately 53% of Texas’ working forests, often representing a significant financial investment spanning generations. These workshops offer practical guidance on responsible forest management and Best Management Practices that protect water quality, conserve wildlife habitat, and support healthy, productive forests.

We’re proud to help make educational opportunities like these available to Texas landowners. TFA membership helps support this work and the future of sustainable forestry across our state!

Texas forestry depends on strong markets for our timber, mills that can process it, and opportunities for the next generation of family businesses.

Thank you to Nate Sheets for highlighting the importance of our state's timber industry, and to TFA President-Elect Jeff Rogers for representing TFA and sharing the challenges facing our industry.

These conversations matter to the future of forestry and the Texas communities that depend on it.

We’re proud to see Texas forestry represented and connected with leaders across our state! Thank you to Nate Sheets for Texas for being part of the conversations that matter to our communities and our industry.

Happy National Loggers Day! 🌲🪵
Today, we’re celebrating the hardworking folks who keep Texas forests working and our forest products industry moving.

But our appreciation for loggers goes far beyond one day on the calendar. Through our quarterly Texas Logger magazine, we share stories, recognize achievements, and shine a spotlight on the people who keep this industry strong.

We’re proud to continue that celebration at our TFA Annual Conference, with our Loggers Appreciation Lunch, Logger of the Year Award, and special sessions featuring industry leaders Scott Dane of the American Loggers Council and Stephanie Fuller Johnson, author of Lucy Meets a Logger.

To all our Texas loggers, thank you for what you do for our industry and our state. Today, tomorrow, and every day of the year!
