Stihl Saving Paws

Stihl Saving Paws Stihl Saving Paws is a non profit 501c3 DOG Rescue in East Texas. Find us on Petfinder.com too.

The name Stihl Saving Paws is in memory of our founder's puppy, Stihl, who was rescued from a roadway who's death has inspired our founder to save as many lives just like his as possible. Saving animals has always been a passion of Jordan's and has recently felt like her purpose on earth, so what better way than to make it an official rescue?

We are incredibly grateful to have been selected by The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) as 1 of 38 recipients for the Texas Spay and Neuter Program (TXSNP) out of 119 applicants!
This is an exciting opportunity for Lufkin Animal Services to better serve residents of Angelina County and help more pets get the care they need.
We have received calls and interest due to recent news and press releases, and we truly appreciate the community’s enthusiasm and support.
However, we only received the official news of the grant Monday, so please be patient as we begin to work through the details and get everything organized. We want to make sure this program is set up to run as smoothly and effectively as possible.
We will be sharing a detailed post and announcements with all the information once everything is in place.
Thank you all so much for your support!

Come on, Texas

Florida has enacted Dexter’s Law, a measure that prohibits individuals convicted of animal cruelty from adopting or purchasing cats and dogs. The law is designed to close a long-standing gap that allowed known abusers to continue acquiring animals after conviction.

Named after a dog whose abuse exposed failures in the system, Dexter’s Law prioritizes prevention and public safety. By restricting access to pets for convicted offenders, the state aims to ensure animals are placed only in responsible, caring homes.

Advocates say the law represents a critical step toward protecting vulnerable animals and reducing repeat abuse. It also strengthens accountability, signaling that animal cruelty carries lasting consequences beyond the courtroom.
