From hosting veteran hunts and outreach events to fostering the sense of camaraderie and healing that only the outdoors can provide, we at the NWTF honor our nation’s veterans and their immense contributions and sacrifices throughout the year.

Today, we send an additional and resounding THANK YOU to all who have served. Because of the courage and commitment of the many men and women in uniform, we have the

privilege to experience the life-changing power of the outdoors. Today and every day, we encourage you to share your thanks with the veterans in your life.

🦃💡 How long do wild turkeys really live?
Spoiler: not as long as you might think.

Survival rates, predators, hunters and habitat all play a role in the lifespan of America’s #1 gamebird. While most gobblers don’t make it past 4 years, a few legendary birds have beaten the odds—living well over a decade.

Thank you, NWTF members and followers. The weeks of persistent outreach to your Congressional delegation have paid off!! Last night, the Senate removed the sale of public lands from the current legislation. The hard work and perseverance of hunters and conservationists did this, and we’re grateful for your passion and commitment.

The Ultimate Wildlife Tag Team! 🦃🦌

Did you know that turkeys and deer often forage together in the wild? It’s not just a coincidence, it’s a clever survival strategy!

Here’s how they help each other out:

Keen Senses: Turkeys have sharp eyesight, while deer rely on their strong sense of smell, making them an unstoppable duo.

Mutual Protection: They trust each other’s instincts, when one is on high alert, the other follows.

Danger Detection: If a turkey spots danger, the deer take off, and vice versa, giving both species a better shot at survival.

Conservation matters because protecting one species often means protecting many. When you support NWTF Texas, you’re helping preserve habitats for turkeys, deer, and countless other wildlife.

Join the flock today and be part of something bigger!
