Texas Ramp Project is on a mission to restore freedom and independence — one ramp at a time. 🦽

This incredible nonprofit builds free wheelchair ramps for low-income older adults and individuals living with mobility disabilities, with every ramp constructed by dedicated volunteer crews. 💪 🙂

Late last year, the Texas Ramp Project expanded into Deep East Texas and is now building ramps in Angelina and Nacogdoches counties — making a life-changing impact for our neighbors right here at home.

We’re grateful for organizations that remove barriers and open doors to greater independence. ❤️

The Nigton Heritage Heroes Kids Club is making a meaningful difference for students at Apple Springs Independent School District, which operates on a four-day school week. 🎒 ✏️ 🖍️

The Nigton Historical Development Project volunteers provide a safe, supportive place for students to learn and grow. The program offers meals and snacks, academic support, hands-on activities and guidance across a variety of subjects — serving students both after school and on days when classes are not in session.

Students learn, play and build critical thinking skills while gaining the tools they need to succeed — not just in the classroom, but in life. By helping address food insecurity and academic challenges, the program also strengthens confidence and self-esteem in the children it serves.

We’re inspired by the investment being made in these students and their bright futures. 💡💙

The Christian Women's Job Corps of Nacogdoches is changing lives through its all-inclusive 9-week Employment Readiness Program designed to help break the cycle of poverty for women in Nacogdoches County.

Participants receive job readiness training, digital skills development, financial literacy instruction through Managing Money God’s Way, healthy boundaries education and Bible study — equipping them with tools for lasting success.

On the first day of the new class, past graduates shared powerful words of encouragement:
✨ “It’s because of this place that I have a job. Don’t ever think it’s not worth it, because it is.”
✨ “What you put in it is what you get out of it.”
✨ “This place was a true blessing.”
✨ “These women have become like family.”

We’re inspired by the life change happening here and grateful for organizations that invest so deeply in the women they serve. 💛

The Brookshire Brothers Charitable Foundation awarded a grant to the Lufkin Education Foundation to help fund a new greenhouse at Burley Primary — and we recently got to see it in action! 🌱

Tiny plants have started to sprout, and it’s exciting to see students learning hands-on in a space designed to help them grow.

There’s nothing better than seeing our support take root and grow in the hands of students. We can’t wait to watch this greenhouse flourish!

We are so proud of the Roadrunner Market at Angelina College and all it does to support students! 🧡💙

The Brookshire Brothers Charitable Foundation brought together nonprofit leaders, educators and community partners in Lufkin on Wednesday for a celebration centered on one shared goal: strengthening the communities Brookshire Brothers proudly serves.

During its annual check presentation ceremony, the Foundation awarded a total of $146,200 in grant funding to 70 nonprofit organizations and educational foundations throughout Texas and Louisiana.

Reflecting the Foundation’s commitment to expanding its reach, 21 of this year’s organizations were first-time grant recipients. The Brookshire Brothers Charitable Foundation (BBCF), a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to advancing the mission and values of Brookshire Brothers, Inc, strategically supports initiatives that address food insecurity, education, and the overall health and wellbeing of local communities.

“For more than a century, Brookshire Brothers has believed that strong communities are built through care, compassion and meaningful investment,” said Melissa Crager, Public Relations & Corporate Responsibility Manager, Brookshire Brothers. “We are continually inspired by the passion and impact of these organizations, and we are honored to help fuel the important work they do every day.”

In addition to the company’s ongoing charitable efforts, the Foundation provides larger-scale annual grants made possible through the generous support of Brookshire Brothers’ vendor partners. Over the past two decades, those partnerships have helped the Foundation distribute more than $2 million to nonprofit organizations working at the grassroots level.

“The Charitable Foundation was established as a natural extension of Brookshire Brothers, carrying
forward and strengthening our legacy of service that has long been at the heart of our organization,” Crager said.

The annual grant ceremony serves not only as a moment of recognition, but as a reminder of the
collective power of partnership — bringing together businesses, nonprofits and community leaders to create lasting, positive change.

Instead of listing all the recipients who received grants from the BBCF this year, we want to give a shout out to our very own:
