Our 4-H’ers took a trip to Burton 4-H Center on Tuesday this week for some hands-on experiences that included a shark dissection and coastal critters! We also had a delicious lunch in the dining hall and loved spending time on Tybee Island. This was a great kickoff to our summer programming activities we have planned so make sure you get signed up for the ones in June - don’t miss out on the F U N! ☀️ 🐊 🐌 🐢 🦀 🐍

Our last Jr./Sr. Club Meeting last week was one to remember! Huge thank you to our amazing volunteers, Bobby and Daniel, for leading an impactful discussion on circles of influence. Our 4-H’ers explored how the people, environments, and experiences around them can shape their decisions and priorities + how to take ownership of those influences in a positive way. 💭✨ We hope our youth continue to grow in leadership and self-awareness as they become our leaders of tomorrow! 🍀

Our 4‑H Awards Night on Friday was full of celebration, gratitude & a few bittersweet goodbyes. 🥲 We honored our Archery team participants and Daniel Marrero as Head Coach, handed out certificates with prizes for our Crafting Club members led by Mrs. Patty Frangos, and recognized our juniors and seniors who completed Project Achievement while also handing out some fun superlatives too!

Thank you to our incredible volunteers for the time and heart you’ve invested in our youth this year — we couldn’t do this program without you. This evening also doubled as a going‑away celebration for Ms. Shelby as she wraps up her time with Extension on June 30. She says “I’m so grateful for this community, all it’s given me, and the chance to serve our Long County 4‑H’ers and their families for the past 5 1/2 years”.

A special thanks to Bobby Ray Staudt, Dion Mumma, and Patty Frangos for helping bring the event to life and all the parents who donated refreshments! 💚✨

MAREX will be hosting a Marine Science Day Camp (Monday to Thursday) for incoming 7th & 8th graders at the UGA Aquarium on Skidaway Island in Savannah. 🪼 This camp is a DAY camp so you must provide transportation there and back each day. However, the invaluable information given to your child will be worth the drive + the whole camp is completely FREE of charge!

We hope you have the date saved to celebrate all of YOUR accomplishments in 4-H this year on Friday, May 22nd! 🥳 You can stop by and stay for 10 minutes or stay the entire time and play games together. We will have light refreshments, a photo op background & awards for students who competed in DPA or any specialty clubs this year. You can RSVP by this Friday via Remind, Text or Email. 🍋🧁

Join us TOMORROW for our last Cloverbud Club meeting of the school year!! 🍀🎉 Come ready to move, groove, and have a blast with your fellow Cloverbuds. Our program is requesting donation based snacks or treats to celebrate. We currently have no snacks available for our students, but do have drinks.
