Troop 1774

As we begin our 2026/2027 program year, we wanted to reflect back on all of the fun and adventures our scouts experienced this summer. Our scouts had the opportunity to:

-- camp
-- go fishing (some for the first time!)
-- hike
-- learn orienteering skills
-- attend a week-long summer camp
-- participate in National Youth Leadership Training
-- spy on the Redcoats for General Washington

We have many more adventures planned for this year, including SIX camping trips, summer camp, a historic trails hike, and a fishing excursion.

If you have a child ages 11-17 who is interested in learning about citizenship, service to others, and outdoor skills, they are welcome to join us! Please reach out and we can provide more information.

I'd like to wrap this up with two special shout outs. Ludlow Fish and Game Club for letting us use their property for camping and our orienteering course. Ludlow Troop 180 for letting us use Camp Falconer for our June campout. We couldn't do it without you folks!

Our scouts braved some cold November rain earlier this month to practice their camp cooking and firebuilding skills. Thank you to the Ludlow Fish and Game Club for hosting us!

We would like to congratulate Mickey Winslow on becoming Troop 1774's first female Eagle Scout! Mickey was also awarded bronze, gold, and silver palms for earning a total of 38 merit badges. We are very proud of her and all of the hard work she has put into her scouting journey.

Please help in whatever way you can. Ludlow Veterans' Services also provides food to non-veteran families in Ludlow who are in need. Please help your local community in any way you can.

Because of the ongoing government shutdown, many of our local military members are now in week five with no paychecks. This has caused our Veterans Food Pantry to see nearly double the number of families coming for help.

Our shelves are running low — and we’re asking for your support.

Canned meats, fruits & veggies • Pasta, Pasta Sauses & rice • Peanut butter • Jelly Cereal • Snacks • Shelf-stable milk • Hygiene items
