Congratulations, River City Taxi Cab, on being chosen as best of the best! 🚕 This is the only smoke-free taxi service in Mason County, as far as we know. Thank you for not exposing your drivers and customers to the cancer-causing toxins in secondhand smoke!

Sixty years ago today, the U.S. Surgeon General published a landmark report on smoking that, "transformed the issue from one of individual and consumer choice to one of epidemiology, public health, and 𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙠 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙨𝙢𝙤𝙠𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙣𝙤𝙣-𝙨𝙢𝙤𝙠𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚."

Six decades later, it's time for everyone to be protected from secondhand smoke in their workplace and other indoor public places!

Kentuckian Lindi Campbell gave a powerful presentation at today's Children's Environmental Health Summit! Even though she has never smoked, Lindi was diagnosed with lung cancer as a result of childhood exposure to toxins like secondhand smoke. 🫁

Lindi has since founded Breath of Hope to raise awareness of how anyone with lungs can get lung cancer. 🎗️ Thank you for helping us spread the word about the benefits of smoke-free indoor public places, Lindi! 🚭

Congratulations to Lexington, Kentucky on the TWENTIETH anniversary of your ordinance! Since you decided to protect all workers from secondhand smoke in workplaces, 58 more Kentucky communities have followed your lead... We can't wait for Mason County to follow suit!
