Every blood donor has a reason why they donate, and every reason is unique.
Here at Versiti, we would like to encourage you to share your story and be a beacon of hope for others. It may be just the inspiration your co-worker, friend or family member needs to make the decision to join us!
I donate in honor and memory of my friend, Dale Kompik Jr., who passed away in 2017 after a 6 week hospital stay. He recieved several transfusions and a blood drive was started in order to help him and others like him. He unfortunately passed away, but the drives have continued for almost 9 years. I used to be afraid to donate, didn't like seeing blood or needles. After helping out at the first drive and seeing everyone donate, I decided that I would face my fear at the next drive and would attempt to donate. It was so much easier than I ever thought! I've given consistenly ever since and now I'm the drive coordinator.
Our upcoming blood drive is on [Drive Date] and our goal is [Drive Goal] units of blood. Did you know: If all donors gave just once more during the year, the risk of blood shortages would decrease. By giving once every season, you can help bridge the gap for those who don’t give as often!
Please schedule your appointment today and thank you again for being a beacon of hope!
