The Mason County Promise is in the process of awarding its ninth year of scholarships, and this year's class of 2026 includes 160 awardees so far from Mason County schools. We are so excited to welcome new Promise Scholars!

Over 150 Promise Scholarship notices went out to 2026 graduates this week! We're so excited to welcome our next cohort of Promise Scholars!!
There is still time to apply if you are a recent Mason County high school graduate or GED recipient and considering college. The Promise is available to Mason County for up to 6 academic years after graduation, for up to 72 post-secondary credits. If you need support figuring out your next steps, Promise staff will be available for college access support at local high schools or at montly sessions at the Mason County District Library--reach out!

The Mason County College Access Network office will be closed from Friday, May 22nd through Monday, May 25th for the Memorial Day weekend, to honor our graduates and remember service members past and present.
Michigan also honors graduates who are children of veterans through the Michigan Children of Veterans Tuition grant (CVTG), which provides up to $11,200 total in funding for post-secondary study. CVTG provides tuition assistance to the natural or adopted children of qualified totally and permanently disabled, deceased, or missing in action (MIA) Michigan veterans. Go to www.michigan.gov/mistudentaid/programs for more info on how you can apply to programs like these.

Congratulations to Mason County's class of 2026 who have graduated and decided their next steps! We're so proud of you at the Promise and College Access Network, and we wish you a lifetime of great opportunties through education!!

If your grad hasn't decided, Promise post-secondary advisors will be available through the summer to support recent graduate from any Mason County high school in figuring out their next steps. Call LHS (Ludington or homeschooled grads) or MCC HS (MCC, MCE, G2S) to make an appointment with a post-secondary advisor, or watch this page for upcoming drop-in hours at local public libraries.
