In the beginning of February, JCI Michigan held their year and conference to celebrate the achievements of 2025. JCI Ludington won an award for Mini Golf Trick or Treat, A membership Excellence Award, Chapter of the Semester, Henry Giessenbier Memorial Award for Outstanding Chapter, C.W. Bill Otto Memorial Award for Most Outstanding Chapter of the Year (for the second year in a row).

Individual Awards were also presented to the following:
Mary Burden received the Tony Karasiewicz Return the Favor Memorial Award for outstanding service as a JCI senator.
Ashley Devers received the Prepared Speak Up and Prepared Write Up competition awards for her speech and essay submitted to the State for judging.
Amanda Wingelaar received the Martin P. Luthy Memorial Award for Most Outstanding Local President and the David Lichwala Award for Outstanding Top Local President.

JCI Ludington has created a legacy of impact, development and service in the community and continues to gather attention on the State and National Stages. The chapter ran multiple projects and socials in 2025 and saw over 30% growth in membership. There has never been a better time to join if you’re between the ages of 18 - 40 and want to see what JCI can offer for you. We’re excited to introduce the dedicated leaders who will be guiding JCI Ludington into an incredible 2026! This board is made up of passionate, community-minded individuals committed to leadership development, service, and making a positive impact right here in the Ludington area.

From supporting local events and fundraisers to creating opportunities for personal and professional growth, this group is ready to build on the Jaycees’ strong legacy while bringing fresh ideas and energy to the table.

The 2026 Board of Directors will work together to:
• Strengthen community connections
• Empower members to grow as leaders
• Support meaningful local projects and events
• Keep the mission of JCI Ludington moving forward

The Oriole Giving Tree Project has been awarded $2,650 through the Jaycees Mini Golf Major Project Grants to support families during the holiday season. Grant funds will be used to provide essential items such as cleaning supplies and household necessities, along with a few fun items for families to enjoy together.

The impact it has on local families during the holidays. The Ludington Area School community has continued to find creative ways to fundraise while serving as many families as possible. We are proud to support Oriole Giving Tree and the meaningful impact it has on local families during the holidays.

We are highlighting Power Book Bags today! They were awarded $2,000 through the Jaycees Mini Golf Major Project Grants to support their mission to promote literacy among children. PoWeR! Book Bags is using grant funding to provide new books to children who visit Lakeshore Food Club with their families. Children may take one book per visit to keep for their home library, as well as one backpack per year to support their reading and writing. PoWeR!
