We stand with Right to Life of Michigan in opposing House Bills 5825–5828.

Every person deserves care, compassion, and dignity, especially during life's most difficult moments.

Please take a moment to contact your state representatives and ask them to vote NO on these bills.

We are in an election year as we all know. There is a lot at stake this November!
Amber Riseboom, our RLM President has shared…
We are going to elect a new governor, a new US senator, and every seat of the Michigan Senate and house is up for grabs. We are also voting on two members for our Michigan Supreme Court, which is firmly in the hands of pro-abortion forces by a 6 to 1 majority. 
… if we do not win either the state senate or the governors  office, it’s likely our long-standing law requiring parental consent for minor teens seeking an abortion is gone. There are also bills to legalize assistance su***de currently sitting in the state house. We have so much to lose if we let ourselves disengage.
The Life. The other choice. media campaign is planned to be re-launched, including a new ad called Hope. You can find it on the state website at rtl.org/videos/.
Let’s start today to take these three action steps… Let’s not wait till September!
1. Please pray for RLM staff, pro-life candidates running campaigns, and for all of us in Michigan to remain focused on life, not the noise around us.
2. Make sure to vote! In every single race, vote pro life!
3. Above all else, advocate for life.

We can’t let ourselves be distracted or discouraged by the noise around us.
Focus on life! It cannot be done without each one of us.

Attention!! A set of House bills, HB 5825-5828, were introduced to legalize assisted su***de in Michigan.

These bills are identical to the set of bills introduced last term in the Senate. The Senate bills did not receive a hearing, but in the interim between the introduction of the Senate bills in 2023 and now, three states have legalized assisted su***de – New York, Illinois, and Delaware. Compassion and Choices, the leading national organization promoting assisted su***de, is active in our state attempting to sway public opinion to accept assisted su***de under the guise of “medical aid in dying” or “death with dignity.” Providing lethal drugs to patients for the purpose of self-inflected death is neither compassionate nor dignified.

We have launched a Voter Voice campaign to assist you in calling or emailing your state legislators to reject these bills and any attempt to legalize assisted su***de in our state. We encourage you to share this with all of your members and volunteers and please put in calls and emails this week. We want to send a loud and clear message to our elected officials that Michigan is a state that protects and provides for vulnerable patients; we don’t abandon the sick, elderly and disabled to assisted su***de.
