Join us on October 7 from 6pm-7pm, via Zoom, as YWCA Kalamazoo hosts statewide “Know Your Rights: 101”!
This education workshop will be presented by MI AECRES (Advocating for Every Child's Right to Educational Success) a nonprofit comprised of seasoned attorneys and advocates passionate about ensuring all children - especially low-income and minority children with disabilities - receive the quality education they need to thrive.
MI AECRES centers students’ rights in the education system by providing free or low-cost non-legal advocacy and legal representation to students, throughout West Michigan, to protect and enforce their education rights.
The “Know Your Rights:101” workshop, presented by MI AECRES Executive Director Jaquelyn Babinski, Esq, will cover best practices regarding:
-Special Education,
-Families’ and students’ rights,
-Education Advocacy, and
-Community engagement.
We invite and welcome all students, family, and educators to attend. As many schools across the state are returning to the classroom, it is vital that we are connected to the resources available to support students and families to empower them to have a safe and equitable learning experience!
