“In Jesus Name”
Guatemalan Medical Ministry
The “In Jesus Name” medical ministry is organized for the sole purpose of ministering to meet the spiritual and medical needs of a portion of the underprivileged Guatemalan population. This ministry does regular medical mission trips and it is truly desired that these mission trips will be a wonderful experience of offering a glass
of water in the name of our blessed savior Jesus Christ. The mission trips are facilitated by Dr. Steven Fineburg , Vernie Sullivan, Genry and Heather Ellison. We stay at our own facility that is upstairs from the "feeding center" called Pan de Vida which means "bread of life." We do clinics each day we are there except Sunday. The clinics are typically done in churches and are not always ideal conditions but that is what is necessary to meet the needs. After doing the medical clinic during the day we “convert” our setting and do food and clothing distribution. We normally provide food and clothing for about 200 families in each of the villages we serve. This is another very humbling experience. The food consists of staples such as rice, beans, oil, sugar, noodles, etc, etc. The amazing thing is that for $10 we can provide enough food for a family for one month. On Sunday, we attend a worship service at one of the local churches and then spend several hours at a local market for those who care for souvenirs, etc. We normally have team members from all religions and walks of life and a good many of the team have not met each other until becoming involved in the mission trip. It is amazing how quickly the team members form close bonds with each other. As of 2020 we have finished building "Pan de Vida" our feeding center for the needy children around El Tejar area. We are presently in the planning and "paper work" phase of starting an orphanage to be called " Casa La Nana". Our underlying purpose is to expand His Kingdom and save the lost thru the Blood of Jesus Christ. Contact us to get involved.
