🎭 What Does Your Life Say?

Our actions often speak louder than our words. As Christians, people are watching how we respond to situations, how we treat others, how we handle temptation, and how we live when nobody is watching.

Matthew 5:16 reminds us to let our light shine so that others can see our good works and glorify our Father in heaven. James 1:22 tells us not only to hear God’s Word, but to be doers of the Word.

Our faith should be more than something we talk about—it should be something people can see in the way we live.

The question we should ask ourselves is:

“If someone watched my life without hearing me say a word, what would my life tell them about Jesus?”

Samson’s downfall didn’t happen all at once. Little by little, he surrendered what God had entrusted to him.

What are you giving away that God told you to guard? 👀

Your peace.
Your purity.
Your convictions.
Your calling.
Your relationship with God.

And if you’ve already given some things away—there is still hope! 🙌🏼

There are seasons in life when we simply don’t know what to do.

We don’t know what tomorrow will look like. We don’t know how a situation is going to turn out. We don’t know if we’re making the right decision. Sometimes we pray, but the answer doesn’t come right away.

And honestly? That can be scary.

But Proverbs 3:5–6 reminds us:

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”

God never promised that we would understand everything. He promised that if we trust Him, He will direct our paths.

Faith doesn’t mean we aren’t afraid.
Faith doesn’t mean we have every answer.
Faith doesn’t mean we can see the whole road.

Faith means we trust the One who can.

Sometimes God doesn’t give us the answer for the next year. He gives us wisdom for the next step.

So when you don’t know what to do:

🌱 Pray.
🧭 Seek God’s wisdom.
❤️ Use discernment and set wise boundaries.
👣 Take the next step God puts in front of you.

You don’t have to figure everything out tonight.

You don’t have to know how every situation will end.

You just have to trust God with what you cannot see.

Because sometimes the greatest evidence of faith isn’t saying, “I know exactly what God is doing.”

Sometimes it’s simply saying:

“God, I don’t know what You’re doing… but I trust You.”

🌱 I don’t know what tomorrow holds, but I know God will give me wisdom for today.

🪑 THE EMPTY CHAIR 🪑

Tonight at Rooted Connections, we’re talking about something that has been heavy on my heart:

THE ONE.

Jesus told a story in Luke 15 about a shepherd who had 100 sheep, but one wandered away. He didn’t look at the 99 and decide that was enough. He went after the one.

Because the one mattered.

Tonight, we’re putting an empty chair in the middle of the room.

That chair represents someone who is missing.

Someone who needs Jesus.
Someone who is hurting.
Someone who has wandered away.
Someone who feels forgotten.
Someone who may not even realize how desperately they need Him.

Every teen will have the opportunity to write down the name of their one—someone they are going to intentionally pray for, love, reach, and invite.

Because church isn’t about filling seats just so we can say the room is full.

It’s about reaching souls.

Jesus said:

“For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
— Luke 19:10

And Luke 15:7 reminds us that heaven rejoices over one sinner who repents.

ONE.

Not just crowds.
Not just numbers.
Not just the 99.

The ONE.

I want our teens to understand that God can use them to reach somebody. Their kindness can open a door. Their testimony can bring hope. Their invitation can change a life. Their prayers can make a difference.

So tonight, we’re asking one simple question:

WHO IS YOUR ONE?

Because every empty chair has a story.

And this chair doesn’t have to stay empty. ❤️

One name.
One prayer.
One opportunity.
One soul.

🔥 ROOTED CONNECTIONS IS TONIGHT! 🔥

DON’T PLAY WITH GRACE

We hear a lot about the grace of God—and thank God we do. His grace is amazing. His mercy is undeserved. His forgiveness is something we could never earn.

But what happens when we become so comfortable with grace that we forget what we were saved from?

Sin is real.
Consequences are real.
Judgment is real.
Hell is real.
Eternity is real.

And Jesus didn’t shy away from talking about any of it.

Tonight we’re having a conversation that may be uncomfortable—but it’s one we can’t afford to avoid.

Because grace isn’t permission to keep living in sin.

Grace is the hand of God reaching into our mess and calling us out of it.

Romans 6:1–2 asks:

“Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid.”

🔥 DON’T PLAY WITH GRACE.

Come ready to listen.
Come ready to be challenged.
Come ready to let God speak.

🧱 BUILT DIFFERENT

What are you building your life on?

Everybody is building a life. Even now. Some people build on being liked. Being good at sports. Getting good grades. Having the right friends. Looking a certain way online. It feels solid — until something shakes it. A friendship ends. You don't make the team. You fail a test. You feel left out.

Jesus told a story about that in Matthew 7:24-27:
Two people built two houses. Same storm hit both.
One house was built on rock — it stood.
One was built on sand — it fell flat.
Same storm. Different foundation.

“What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?" — Matthew 16:26

This week in Rooted Connections we're going to talk about what it looks like to build your life on Jesus — the one foundation that doesn't move when everything else does.

God’s presence.

And still slowly lose your awareness of God’s presence.

🔥 THE COUNTDOWN IS ON! 🔥

In just a few days, Rooted Connections Youth will be hitting the road for Arise Conference 2026 in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee! 🙌

🚌 We leave Monday, July 20th and we are believing God for an incredible week filled with His presence, His Word, and life-changing encounters.

We’ve been praying, preparing, and expecting God to move in the hearts of our students and leaders. We know He has something special in store, and we can’t wait to see what He is going to do!

Please join us in praying for:
🙏 Safe travels
🙏 Protection over every student and leader
🙏 Hearts that are open to receive from God

🔥 BACKWARDS 🔥
Because the Kingdom Doesn’t Follow Culture

🌎 The world has a way of thinking… but the Kingdom of God has a different way.

Tonight at Rooted Connections Youth Group, we’re talking about what it means to live differently in a world that constantly tries to shape us.

📖 Romans 12:2 reminds us:
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind…”

Culture changes. Trends change. Opinions change.

But the Kingdom of God never changes.

The world says:
➡️ Put yourself first.
➡️ Get even.
➡️ Follow your feelings.
➡️ Fit in.

But Jesus says:
❤️ Serve.
❤️ Forgive.
❤️ Follow truth.
❤️ Be transformed.

Following Jesus may look “backwards” to the world, but God’s way is always the right way.
