Tonight was Pajamas & Prayer Night at Rooted Connections, and we had such a wonderful evening together!

Our lesson was “What’s In Your Bucket?” as we talked about Luke 6:45 and the importance of what we allow to fill our hearts. Just like a bucket only pours out what’s inside of it, our words, attitudes, and actions reveal what we’ve been filling ourselves with. We challenged our teens to fill their hearts with God’s Word, prayer, worship, and things that honor Him.

After the lesson, we spent time laughing, fellowshipping, and making memories together. We are so thankful for a group of young people who are willing to learn, grow, and have fun while pursuing God.

We love watching these teens put down roots in Christ and grow stronger in their faith each week. 🌱

Thank you, parents, for sharing your amazing young people with us. We are excited to see all that God is doing in their lives!

Tonight was a powerful reminder that freedom begins at the Cross. ✝️

Our students took time to prayerfully write down the chains, strongholds, fears, hurts, lies, and struggles that have tried to hold them back. One by one, they nailed those things to the cross as a symbol of surrendering them to Jesus.

The beautiful truth is that what we lay at the Cross no longer has to define us.

Afterward, each student wrote a final card—not with their struggle, but with their identity in Christ. They placed that card in their Bible as a reminder that they are not who the enemy says they are; they are who God says they are.

They are:
❤️ Forgiven
👑 Chosen
💪 Strong
✨ Redeemed
🕊️ Free
📖 Loved
🌱 Made New

The Cross is where chains are broken, shame loses its grip, and new identities are established.

“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” — John 8:36

We are so proud of our Rooted Connections students for their honesty, courage, and willingness to let God do a deeper work in their hearts. Please continue to pray for these young people as they walk in the freedom Christ has already purchased for them.

🔥 WEEK 3 | BREAKING THE CHAINS 🔥

We’ve spent the last two weeks learning how to recognize unhealthy cycles and uncover the battle taking place in our minds and hearts. This week, we arrive at the most important truth of all:

Freedom is possible.

The enemy wants young people to believe they are stuck.
Stuck in fear.
Stuck in anger.
Stuck in shame.
Stuck in family patterns.
Stuck in the lies they’ve believed about themselves.

But Jesus says otherwise.

This week we’ll discover:
🔓 How forgiveness breaks chains
🔓 How to replace lies with God’s truth
🔓 Why your past does not define your future
🔓 The power of godly influences and friendships

You are not the labels others have placed on you.

You are loved.
You are chosen.
You are valuable.
You are called.

Through Jesus, a new story can begin.

🔥 Week 2 is here! 🔥

This week we’re stepping into The Battle in the Mind & Heart. So much of what we struggle with doesn’t start with actions—it starts in the mind:

* the thoughts we repeat
* the lies we believe
* the pain we never processed
* the emotions we don’t know how to handle

But here’s the truth:
What happens in your mind doesn’t have to control your life. This week we’re learning how to let God break the cycle from the inside out:

✔ Bitterness that has taken root
✔ Anger that comes from unhealed pain
✔ Fear & anxiety that overwhelm the mind
✔ Hidden struggles that keep us stuck
✔ Identity confusion that the world tries to define

You don’t have to stay trapped in your thoughts. You don’t have to stay stuck in what you feel.

God still brings peace.
God still heals minds.
God still breaks cycles.
