🐾 ELLIE NEEDS HER VILLAGE. ❤️
Our sweet Ellie has a torn CCL, and she is going to need TPLO surgery to give her the best chance at getting back to the happy, active life she deserves — and ultimately, to her happily ever after.
As you can imagine, a surgery like this comes with a pretty hefty price tag, and we’re going to need your help.
The good news is that Ellie’s weight is finally up enough for her to move forward with surgery. We are aiming to have her TPLO scheduled for mid to late October, so we need to start building her surgery fund now.
We have already had two incredibly generous donors step up and donate 10% of Ellie’s surgery cost, and they have challenged others to match that 10% if they’re able. What an amazing way to get us started! Thank you Harold and our second donor who wished to remain anonymous!❤️
And please know — you do not have to donate 10%.

We completely understand that money is tight right now. It is for just about everybody. We never want anyone to feel guilty because they can’t give. If you can help, we are grateful. If you can’t, sharing Ellie’s story is also helping.

The reality is that donations have been slower lately, and adoptions have slowed down too. But there are still some bright spots. We’ve recently had a couple of dogs who had been waiting for quite a while finally head off to their forever homes. And three dogs who came into rescue recently went straight into foster-to-adopt homes. Those are the moments that remind us why we keep doing this. 🥹
We’re also going to spend some time this weekend getting some bios posted for some of the dogs who don’t get nearly enough attention. There are some really great dogs waiting for someone to notice them, so make sure you’re watching the page this weekend!
For now, though, Ellie needs us.
She didn’t ask for a torn CCL. She didn’t ask for surgery. She just deserves the opportunity to heal, get back on all four feet, and find the family she’s been waiting for.
