We wanted to make a quick post to let everyone know that for the foreseeable future, we will primarily be focusing on helping dogs within our more local area.
Right now, the needs close to home, and here in Ohio are overwhelming, and with the increasing costs of veterinary care, boarding, fuel, and everyday rescue expenses, it has become harder and harder for us to responsibly pull dogs from farther away. While we wish we could help everywhere, the reality is that we simply do not have the resources to pull dogs from places like California or Texas, (and even helping in Memphis has become increasingly difficult financially).
This year alone has brought some very large medical expenses for our rescue dogs. Thankfully, because of this incredibly generous community, those needs have been met, and we are beyond grateful for every single person who has donated, shared, supported, and stood behind these dogs. ❤️
At this point, we feel it is important to focus on two things:
1. Helping the dogs currently in our rescue complete their rescue journey and find forever homes.
2. Keeping our efforts more to Ohio/Northern KY so we can better manage costs and continue helping dogs sustainably long-term.
Please know this decision was not made lightly. We still care deeply about the dogs everywhere who need help. But right now, every little bit we save on transportation and expenses helps us continue saying “yes” to the dogs we can responsibly help.
Thank you all for understanding and for continuing to support this rescue and the dogs who depend on us. 🫶
