We would like to extend our gratitude to everyone who participated in the annual Wreaths Across America program despite the cold weather.

Although the conditions were frigid, honoring the nation's servicemen and women and teaching children that freedom comes at a cost always warms our hearts.

You are cordially invited to attend the annual Wreaths Across America ceremony this Saturday, December 13th at 12:00pm (noon), by First Independent Bank.

Local youth will lay a wreath for each branch of the service to REMEMBER the fallen, HONOR those who serve, and TEACH our children the cost of freedom.

Joyce Plaetz, representing the American Legion Auxiliary taught flag etiquette to the kindergarteners and 1st graders at ISD 640. Did you know it is okay to wash a flag? Just make sure it is of washable material. You should never wear a real flag as a costume!
