Calling all art lovers 🥰 🎨

🎨 NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS: ELAH Mural Project 2026 🎨

Are you a young artist ready to create something BIG? 👀

The ELAH Mural Project is back! And we’re looking for artists ages 12–19 to design and paint original murals that will live in our community. No experience needed, just your creativity.

What you’ll do:
• Learn mural design + painting techniques
• Create large-scale artwork
• Collaborate with other young artists
• Contribute to public art with purpose

🗓 Program Dates: Saturdays in August & September 2026

💸 Stipend: $35/week for participation

We provide: All supplies, lunch, snacks + possible transportation support

Who can apply?: Students (or recent grads) from: Rise Academy, Dunbar, Estacado, Triumph, Priority Intervention, Roosevelt, Lubbock High, Talkington
OR youth living in zip codes 79401, 79403, 79404, 79415 OR homeschool or youth that have recently dropped out.

Each selected artist will create their own mural, no theme required. We want YOUR voice, YOUR vision.

Un resumen de lo que se habló en la junta de ayer:

✅La próxima semana, la junta diectiva (Board of Trustees) va a votar para aprobar las localidades donde serán construidas las nuevas escuelas
✅Para Bean, se va a proponer construir la escuela en donde actualmente está la secundaria OL Slaton
✅OL Slaton se derrumbará para hacer espacio para la nueva construcción.
✅El edificio nuevo contara con cercas mas altas por seguridad y la entrada principal estara por la Ave P, tambien por seguridad
✅ Se espera que la nueva escuela esté lista en Agosto del 2028.
✅Todos los mismos programas que actualmente se ofrecen en Bean serán transferidos a la nueva escuela, incluyendo el programa bilingüe
✅ Se hará un comité para escoger el nombre que llevará la escuela nueva.
