Billie's life was a testament to the powerful impact one person can have on the world around them. Through kindness, strength, and unwavering love, she built a legacy that lives on in our hearts. Whether through family, friendships, sisterhood or everyday moments,

Last Sunday, the members of Rising Star Baptist Church were honored to worship with the lovely ladies of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. They all dressed in white and looked beautiful. So proud of the service they render in our community, the opportunity to share the joy of our faith together, and the meaningful friendships made over the years.

Co-chaired by Soror Regina Ross and Soror Vanessa Ragsdale, these two caring, faithful Sorors have joined together to consistently and lavishly remember and honor the “Our Seniors” of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Eta Delta Omega Chapter in such loving and creative ways! The time, planning, joy, and genuine love demonstrated by this committee has been inspiring and much appreciated by all. Those lucky enough to be called seniors have learned to look forward to receiving seasonal and kindness cards in the mail as well as fun, creative, uplifting, sometimes yummy, tasty gifts either delivered to each home or mailed out of town! How special, and what an impact on the meaning of sisterhood!!

So proud for Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Eta Delta Omega Chapter to be recognized for Life Membership in the Lubbock NAACP since March, 1987! The chapter looks forward to continued partnership and committed community service with this civil rights organization, home of grassroots activitism for civil rights and social justice.

The residents at Windmill Village Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center were lined up in the cafeteria and hallways with smiles on their faces in response to the announcement that Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Eta Delta Omega would visit today, bringing talented guest singers and a Christmas gift for everyone! Dunbar College Preparatory choir and the community group, Tried by Fire, did not disappoint!
Sorors volunteered to spend hours organizing and bagging gifts for 85 residents: warm socks, Christmas cards, candy canes, Kleenex tissues displaying the words “Never Give Up, Always Pray,” hand sanitizer, pens, fun sun glasses, and mental health games. An original designed AKA sticker was affixed to each bag -all wrapped with a pretty ribbon and green “ jingle” bells!
A festive pink and green sign wishing all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year was left on an easel near the Christmas tree in the lobby foyer to remind residents & visitors that Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority cares about those in our community!💕
