I know I said I wouldn’t do something like this again, but here I am. From March 13th to March 23rd, I walked 374 miles across Texas over 10 days to support our federal employees, retirees, and Social Security. We raised some money, but the main goal was to raise awareness about the importance of Social Security. I had the chance to meet with Governor Greg Abbott, State Legislator Carl Tepper, State Legislator Trey Wharton, and State Legislator Richard Hayes. It was great to talk with all the Texas legislators, especially the governor. I want to thank the Texas Retired Teachers Association (TRTA) for their support during the walk; it was an honor to work with them. And a special thanks to Timothy Lee, Terri Navrkal, and Judy Kennedy from TRTA for making me feel so welcome in Austin and treating me like a son!

Attending the signing of the Social Security Fairness Act (HR-82) in Washington, D.C. was a remarkable experience, and I’m deeply thankful to President Biden, the Biden Administration, and the Social Security Administration for making it possible. This trip was a truly memorable way to celebrate a milestone birthday. My sincere gratitude goes to Ben Belton, Claire Green, former Commissioner Martin O’Malley, and the entire Social Security Administration team for their invaluable support. As Acting Director of the NewLife Foundation, I’m excited about our future plans and remain committed to providing free yard care services. If you know anyone in need of assistance, please encourage them to contact me.

So today I will be starting off my appreciation post for my journey to Washington. This will be to show my appreciation to all the people/entities that helped me along the way.

First up is El Editor, I remember when I first started off preparing for my journey I contacted so many new stations, newspapers, radio stations and just a lot of people and no one replied to me at all except for El Editor they were fully supportive and very helpful on the beginning of my journey. They were the only media there for me at the beginning so I owe a lot to them getting the ball rolling on the media coverage of my journey. So if y’all can please return the favor and show some support on their page, instagram page and website.
