Another great meeting today and one new member joined. Program was given by Penny Howard on turning plain squares to “on point” for a different look. Show and tell was great and we had lots of premie and kids quilts for donation.

Today we had another great guild meeting at Cumberland Presbyterian and started our in town retreat. Several members brought crock pots of various soups and chili for lunch. We had desserts and plenty of sides. Our 50 year celebration committee met and the new officers had their meeting. We filled 4 barrels plus a few boxes to donate to Women Protective Services. And held another large garage sale this meeting. Photos of show and tell of what was finished this past month.

Today we had a great guild meeting with several members in attendance. We had a garage sale from a large donation in November. We installed our 2026 new officers and had a man that works for WPS give our program. He thanked all the quilters that are generous with their work.
Next month we will meet at Cumberland Presbyterian for a three day sewing retreat.

Hi there! I’m a fellow quilter here in Lubbock with a question. I’ve been commissioned to make the Prairie Star pattern by Shabby Fabrics for a client, but Shabby Fabrics ran out of the kits, and aren’t willing to sell me the pattern alone. I can’t find the pattern anywhere else. I’m curious if any of the Guild members might have this pattern, and consider selling me a copy? I know it’s a long shot. Thanks for your help!

Mary Cotten Randall whose mother is Virginia Cotten in our guild has a gorgeous quilt that has been selected to travel with the ASQ Traveling Exhibit in 2026. It is an awesome quilt with so many tiny blocks. Congrats to Mary!
