5-15-26 LES All Call
Good evening, Loyalton Elementary Families, this is Mrs. Armstrong with the weekly all-call.
Thank you to Mr. Vang and the LHS AG students for hosting yet another educational and fun Farm Day for our elementary students.
The Fall sports registration form for grades 1st through 5th is coming home with your student soon, and is due by Friday, June 5th. If you have any questions, please contact the athletic director, Mrs. Burns.
A message from Mr. McIntosh: It is now time for students to return their instruments, workbooks, and care kits for summer inspection and repairs. Please make sure all instrument parts and care-kit materials are returned by next Friday, May 22nd. We understand some care-kit items may have gone missing throughout the year, so please simply do your best. Before returning instruments, students should gently wipe and swab them using only a slightly damp cloth — please do not use any chemicals or cleaning products. If anything is broken or damaged, please do not attempt repairs at home. Thank you for your support of the music program and for helping us care for these instruments for future students!
Next week, our 3rd through 5th-grade students will participate in CAASPP testing, and we are excited for them to showcase all they have learned throughout this school year. We would also like to thank GCPC for generously providing healthy snacks to support our students during testing days. We want to remind families that CAASPP testing is not something students should fear or worry about. It is simply one of the tools we use to measure academic growth and progress. At LES, we use the results to help guide our instructional practices and ensure we are meeting California state standards while supporting every student’s learning needs. Thank you to our parents and families for partnering with us and encouraging students to do their best, stay positive, and approach testing with confidence.
On May 25th, there will be no school in observance of Memorial Day. May 28th and 29th is the BOGO Book Fair. And on May 29th, there will be the annual Garden Plant sale.
Lastly, as the weather warms, please help us ensure that students come to school dressed appropriately to maintain a safe and positive learning environment. Shorts should be at least fingertip-length when arms are extended to the sides. Tank tops should have straps wider than spaghetti straps, and shirts should fully cover the stomach and back, reaching the top of shorts or pants at all times. Also, please do not send students to school wearing flip-flops. They are not safe for running and playing, and we frequently see toe and foot injuries associated with this type of footwear. Thank you for your cooperation and support.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and I look forward to seeing our Grizzly Cubs on Monday morning.
