The Alabama State Department of Education recently held school safety training at Conecuh County Public Schools in Evergreen on Emergency Operation Plan Implementation, Lockdown Best Practices, and Relocation, Evacuation ,and Reunification of school staff and students. District School Safety Coordinators from throughout the state met to learn best practices and engage in district collaboration on lessons learned

Health Services Coordinator Alison Rudd and RN Regional Team Leader Carol Winton presented at the One Loud Voice Conference, a multidisciplinary child abuse conference. Their session explored the often under-recognized role of school nurses as frontline healthcare providers within the school environment, uniquely positioned to notice early signs of abuse, neglect, and trauma. Collaboration across disciplines was highlighted - particularly the exceptional way in which BCBE nursing, counseling, social work, and safety personnel work together as a unified team to support students’ health, safety, and well-being.
