Congrats and well deserved, Mrs. Sasser! 💙🎉💚

The Administration, Faculty, and Staff of Daphne High School are exceptionally proud to announce Mrs. Laura Sasser, School Social Worker, as the recipient of the DHS 2025 Classified Employee of the Year award.

This honor is reserved for a staff member whose dedication, compassion, and tireless work behind the scenes are instrumental to the success and well-being of our students and the entire school community.

Mrs. Sasser embodies the spirit of student-centered service. Her work extends far beyond the typical school day, functioning as the vital liaison between our school families and crucial community resources. She relentlessly advocates for students with teachers, administration, and law enforcement, while coordinating with community assistance, state, and legal agencies to ensure holistic support.

Please join us in celebrating Mrs. Laura Sasser, our inspiring 2025 Classified Employee of the Year!

Health Services Coordinator Alison Rudd and RN Regional Team Leader Carol Winton presented at the One Loud Voice Conference, a multidisciplinary child abuse conference. Their session explored the often under-recognized role of school nurses as frontline healthcare providers within the school environment, uniquely positioned to notice early signs of abuse, neglect, and trauma. Collaboration across disciplines was highlighted - particularly the exceptional way in which BCBE nursing, counseling, social work, and safety personnel work together as a unified team to support students’ health, safety, and well-being.
