Acreage/Lox residents - Baxter has got to go. To say “unnecessary personal crusades”, meaning, Betty Argue beating the tar out of Minto in the court system for one example. This saved our community from a free ride for Minto/Westlake, and millions of dollars of our residents taxes. It also states Baxter has donated to Betty Argue’s opponents campaign, again, dipping in where she doesn’t belong. There has been nothing gained personally by Betty, Baxter is only siding with Minto and helping other candidates that would follow suit towards Minto’s wants/needs. If anyone is gaining anything personal, it’s Baxter trying to drum up more funding from Minto for 2026. Not one “personal gain” example was stated.

“When she first ran for the board, I think she did it for the right reasons,” Baxter continued. “But since then, she has taken on a number of unnecessary personal crusades. Ultimately, she should put the needs of the residents first and not her own.”

An ugly election cycle got uglier in The Acreage on Thursday, Oct. 24 when a man allegedly drove his van repeatedly through a polling place parking lot with “hate music” blaring in a way that left candidates, campaign workers and voters feeling concerned and threatened. At midweek, the driver, N...

Lox / Acreage residents! Stay sharp!

This is Minto at its finest, meddling in our affairs again, trying to up-end our upcoming local elections.

1. PBSO is NOT paid by our ITID non ad valorem taxes, but by our County taxes.

2. Minto is attempting to confuse those not fully aware of how our local government actually works.

3. Minto is pushing for the two ITID seats that are up for election this November, and fill them with Baxter/Minto puppets, which down the road, could be detrimental to our community by giving up our privately roads to them. (As a past ITID Board has done, giving several arterial roads to County and we no longer have control of).

3. With all of the surrounding development and major increase in traffic, we need to keep experienced people on the Board and continue protecting us. Voting in people that support Baxter who herself has tried diligently to destroy our community, would be a serious mistake.

4. The funding for this smear campaign can be tied DIRECTLY to Minto, don’t be fooled. They’ve spent over $200,000.00 at last check towards this nonsense. Proof of their donations also in main pics above.

This is the BS they are sending out along with the image above…. Again, this is a LIE.

Shocker! Minto vs Indian Trail Improvement District, (our local govt that maintains The Acreage and Loxahatchee roads, drainage and parks), is pretty much over with a win for us! After just a couple days of a loss for our community with the County’s denial of the GL Homes land swap deal, protecting us from an additional 1200+ homes being built and approximately 18,000 daily vehicle trips, the lawsuit against our community may be a done deal! The lawsuit started by Minto, the builders that created Westlake, an urban community that was planted right in the middle of our rural community, bringing a major influx of traffic and light pollution to our rural lifestyle and at one time, starry nights.

Snippet:

“"Indian Trail is a local equestrian community. There are kids on horses. A lot of the roads are dirt," Burman said. "You can't just dump a project like this out there and expect us to maintain the roads."

“Minto Communities President Mike Belmont downplayed the partial summary judgement that cut off access to 140th Avenue North, saying that while the company is disappointed in the initial ruling, it will not affect the “ongoing development or success of Westlake.”

“Westlake became the county's 39th city when it incorporated in 2016 on about 4,000 acres north of Lion Country Safari and west of The Acreage. The Acreage largely falls within the Indian Trail Improvement District.”

I might add, they, Westlake, was able to incorporate and become a city under shady circumstances, and only having a total of 5 registered resident.

We (The Acreage/Loxahatchee) of over 44,000 residents, would have been the 40th “city” (town) in Florida, however Minto lobbyists in Tallahassee fought it tooth and nail, spending a massive amount of money keeping our residents, not from becoming the 40th city, but get this……. They fought our American right to VOTE on if we wish to become incorporated or not. Deep pockets prevailed, our bill, Florida HB 1113, never even made it to the first committee, let alone the House and Senate for a vote to allow Governor Desantis to give a final decision. Again, this was only for the right to vote. Surrounding incorporated communities have much less residents, but still, our right to vote was squashed.

This Minto loss has made my day, and month! They will now have to pay millions for infrastructure, something they should have done in the first place. Trying to get something for nothing, brings karma! And trying to screw with the little guys/gals, double karma!! 🔫 u a 🦅 !!!

Please help our neighbor fight SWA’s nonsense claims. SWA states they “own” all trash in our County. Funny, since it’s always been garbage placed on the street is free game to anyone, including Govt investigations. They claim her worm business will cause financial hardship. Seriously SWA??? Get a life! Even better, do your job and pick our garbage up and keep us from having to spend time on the constant complaints for missed pick ups! If a single small business will cause you hardships by stealing “your garbage”, you are your own enemy!

Please sign the petition and stop this ludicrous nonsense! https://www.change.org/p/give-palm-beach-county-residents-a-choice-in-how-their-trash-is-processed

Please help support our cause! We are not against churches however we are against them being placed on privately owned roads, one of which is an allocated equestrian trail. These commercial businesses belong on County and State roads. They will not have to pay any maintenance or impact fees which will costs those in that Unit higher taxes for road upkeep.

Say NO Church on Tangerine
The property in question located at 12985 Tangerine Blvd has requested a zoning variance to allow 67 parking spaced on a residential lot of 2 acres (actual property space) with an expansion of an existing 2 1/2 K square feet house for 5000 ft.² house of worship with the pastoral residence.
The surrounding residents are in opposition to this zoning change as we live in an agricultural/residential (Ag/Res) neighborhood, which this property is also currently zoned.
Each of us owns the property to the middle of the street, providing easement for ITID and County. These are privately owned roads along both cross streets and are paid for by the residents of our Unit. The Church will be tax exempt and will not require to pay any maintenance or impact fees that their parishioner’s usage and damages will obviously create with the additional traffic.
This is a quiet residential community, but also an equestrian community. 130th Ave N is part of the current Equestrian Trails approved by ITID.
The applicant has already marked up many trees on the 2 1/2 acre property, approximately 99% will be completely removed to accommodate their request.
There is an existing church in the area on the corner of Orange Boulevard and 130th which is barely 2 blocks down from this application which is a much larger area on a main /busy County Road

Allowing for 67 parking spaces on this property will drastically increase the traffic for all the residents in the area, and, as you know, ultimately lower the property values in the area due to the lesser desired environment being next to a church.

Tangerine Blvd has been affiliated with a tragic accident of our neighbor’s daughter and this is not a single instance. Other fatalities have occurred at almost all intersections of this stretch of road.
The neighborhood has filed multiple applications to County to lower the speed limit, install speed bumps to allow this community to remain calm and accommodate the equestrian nature of the neighborhood, but, it has always been ignored by County on all requests.

Adding to a possible environmental hazard caused by quite large attendance of 250 + (67 parking x 4 persons) utilizing the current residential septic system (no plans have been provided to show the septic will be upgraded for the increased capacity) We are all on septic tanks and well water - water contamination is quite possible with this increased occupancy.

The zoning hearing has been planned for July 6th, 2023 at 9 am

All details and instruction where to file your opposition are included in this link.

We are counting on all our neighbors to understand the above concerns and support us in opposition to this zoning change. We are not against having churches in our community, however placing them on privately owned and taxes paid for these roads is not a suitable place for a church. They belong on County or State main roads so as not to incur additional damages to ITID maintained roads.
