What a way to wrap up our first session of the school year! 🌎
For six weeks, ourstudents traveled back over 500 years to explore the Age of Exploration, from the lives of the Timucua people to European explorers, Spanish colonization, and the founding of St. Augustine.
Students became historians, bringing the past to life through research, hands on projects, outdoor games, and cooking classes!
Our Tasty Tuesdays added another layer to our learning as we explored history through food, and our parent presentation gave students the opportunity to share their knowledge, practice public speaking, and proudly showcase their work.
The grand finale was our first overnight school trip of the year to St. Augustine!
Together with their families, students walked through the very places they'd spent weeks studying, explored historic landmarks, and put their knowledge to the test in various tours and scavenger hunts.
And THAT'S the magic of CKA, students getting to live what they learned, connecting the history they learned in the classroom by experiencing it in real life! đź’š
