Facilitate access to decent, safe and affordable housing for low- and moderate-income residents and partners with others to catalyze community revitalization throughout Lewis County. PROPERTY REHABILITATION AND CONSTRUCTION
The Property Rehabilitation program is intended to provide financial assistance to homeowners who are in need of rehabilitation activities that are necessary to al
leviate substandard conditions of their homes. Property Rehabilitation Program services include the following to income qualified residents:
• REHAB: financial assistance to homeowners who are in need of repairs that will address health and safety deficiencies, energy efficiency needs and/or or accessibility modifications (owner occupied or renter occupied);
• Direct Homeownership Assistance Program (DHAP) financial assistance to first time homebuyers in order to cover down payment and/or closing costs, plus rehabilitation expenses; and
• Manufactured, Mobile Home Replacement Program (MMHRP) financial assistance to homeowners who need to replace dilapidated or substandard mobile or manufactured homes
HOMELESS PREVENTION
The Homelessness Prevention Program is intended to provide a coordinated and community wide approach to ending homelessness, provide funding to rehouse homeless individuals (including unaccompanied youth, chronically homeless, veterans, domestic violence victims and families), promote access to programs which minimize the traumatic experiences and displacement caused by homelessness, and improve self-sufficiency among individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
