The Fund for Hope is dedicated to making the journey with cancer
less stressful by helping to defray some of the travel costs related to cancer treatment.

To qualify to receive funding from the Fund for Hope, applicants must be Lewis County residents or utilize the services of the Lewis
County Health System.

The one-page application is available to download at: www.LewisCountyHospitalFoundation.org.

To request an application, please call the Hospital Foundation office at 315-376-5110.

No financial information is required to qualify for the Fund for Hope.

We are pleased to annouce reserved parking for expectant mothers at Lewis County General Hospital. The reserved parking space is located in the parking area directly behind the Emenegency Department parking lot, helping to provide easier access and added comfort for our patients during this special time.

This addition reflects our ongoing commitment to providing high-quality maternal care and supporting families every step of the way from pregnancy through delivery and beyond. By enhancing convenience and accessibility for our expectant mothers, we continue to invest in the well-being of our community and build a healthier future for the families we serve.

During National Volunteer Appreciation Week we are celebrating a very unique volunteer at Lewis County General Hospital.

Hershey, a 3-year-old miniature Labradoodle, owned and handled by Physical Therapist Miranda Lehman, has been a certified therapy dog through Alliance of Therapy Dogs since July 2023 and he’s been making a meaningful difference ever since.

During Volunteer Appreciation Week, we are proud to recognize Hershey and the incredible impact he makes as part of our volunteer team. Each week, he visits Lewis County General Hospital and the Nursing Home, bringing smiles to patients, residents, and staff alike. With his gentle nature and intuitive warmth, he offers comfort, companionship, and emotional support to those who need it most.

Whether he’s brightening someone’s day with a wag of his tail or simply sitting quietly by their side, Hershey has a special way of turning ordinary moments into ones filled with joy, connection, and healing.

We are grateful to the LCGH Auxiliary for donating $4,000 to the Hospital Foundation for the Fund For Hope from their annual chocolate sale.

The Fund for Hope supports cancer patients who live in Lewis County or use the services of the Lewis County Health System with their treatment travel expenses.

If you or someone you know is dealing with cancer treatment expenses, please complete the one-page application and return to the Hospital Foundation. Once approved, the cancer patient can receive $1,000 annually to assist with treatment travel expenses. No financial information is required.
